  1. Apparently, going to the same institution can mean that you're good only in the eyes of local proffessors, but not objectively good. Like the favourite student of a teacher who gets straight As and then faced with a national standardised test - fails. Of course, it might be true in some cases, in other not.
  2. PhD isn't about studying and being at school, it involves mostly independent work and it's an introduction to being a researcher (like a supervised first job in that area). Master's is more school-like. MBA isn't really math loaded. Compared to engineering or economics, it's barely a class or two and much more descriptive. Other ideas that come to my mind are creative writing, marketing, managemanet. (Sorry if they are bad, I'm not all that knowledgeable about the humanities) You can also always try to get a second undergraduate degree as well (you can try to transfer some classes if possible), if pursuing your dreams about journallism requires it.
  3. what I do is pick the locations where I want to study and research what schools are there and what they require from candidates and students. Every city has lower and higher level institutions. Be fairly specific about the location, so don't lok for schools in the US, for example, but specifically in certain states: e.g. Florida, California etc.
  4. Proffessors don't usually respond to emails from students… Especially ones they don't know in person.
  5. Hi I don't know where to apply yet. I'm from Europe and want to stay here, but I'm looking for possibilities to study abroad. Still have to write my thesis, in which I can hopefully show my skills, because it looks like I don't have a solid portfolio from the attended courses, even though they covered a lot of material and practical projects.
