That's a good question! Honestly, the program is fairly well structured I'd say. You have nice room for elective classes and the core classes are relevant to what you would be doing in a policy role. With respects to co-op, you will usually work your first co-op job in the summer following your first academic year and usually lasts 4 months but you can have options to extend it to 8 months.

Got my official admissions letter and funding package from Carleton last week! 45k in funding (including TA ship), which I was incredibly surprised to see as I was expecting much less. I’m super stoked! Hope everyone gets the result they want. You got this!

For sure! CGPA was 10.5/12, worked in government in policy and program evaluation roles for 3 years, volunteered a bit with a federal MP and an Ottawa municipal councillor, 4 references. I hope this is what you were looking for!

Just an update on my end: Got an email from Carleton that my offer has been delayed due to staffing issues at the faculty of graduate affairs. Just in case anyone else is waiting! See you in September!

Congrats!! My app was changed from review by department to review by the Faculty doctoral affairs 3 days ago and now I’m getting slightly concerned about my placing. Hopefully I can have you as a classmate this fall!

MPPA app at Carleton U went from "Review in Progress by department" to "Review in progress by Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs" stage today. Not sure if this is good news or not but here's hoping! Did anyone hear back from Carleton yet?
