  1. I also received a 16k yearly scholarship from Columbia. I appealed for more money and they gave me only 1k more a year. But the process was very quick and I got a response in less than a week!
  2. Just wanted to tell you that I love your username hahahah. Also, I am currently deciding between Columbia and NYU but leaning towards NYU because I have seen a few posts saying the same thing! The only thing that I'm worried about with NYU is it being too clinical and that I might feel trapped if I eventually change my mind and want to do macro
  3. I originally got a 12k scholarship from NYU. I emailed them and submitted a request for more funding. It took about a month for a response to the request but I ended up getting a couple thousand more a year! I think I'm going to submit my deposit for NYU today!
  4. no way!! we should definitely chat then, I got the same scholarships to both NYU and Denver as you! which one are you leaning towards? and whats your concentration?
  5. OMG I got into columbia today!!! Congrats to everyone else who did, so exciting! I honestly cried a little bit. Does anyone know how long it takes to get scholarship/financial aid info? Also, does anyone know how long the scholarship appeal process for NYU takes? I submitted one about a week ago and haven't heard anything. I'm starting to really freak out about deciding where to go. I pretty much ruled out Umich because the friends I know that are in the program really regret it. So right now I'm deciding between NYU, Denver, and Columbia. Anyone else deciding between the same schools or have any input/advice on how to decide??
  6. I got the same thing too and was also very confused because "next step in the process" makes it seem like I already got accepted. Did you reply and ask about that? also I'm very tempted to say yes to the lunch offer haha
  7. Thank you for the advice! I know its a great school I'm just personally very looking forward to leaving Michigan! I lived in Ann Arbor for about a year and as much as I liked it then I don't really want to do it again. That's what I've heard too. I'm honestly not sure how the whole licensing process goes for social work because I decided to apply for MSW programs very recently instead of masters in psych, but I'll look into it! Thanks!
  8. Of course!! I submitted my app on the 31st and it was 'received' on 2/4 and I was notified by a phone call & email on 2/12. I graduated from MSU with a BS in psych last year with a 3.8 GPA. Worked in 3 research labs and managed one of them. One internship years ago and currently work as an ABA tech for the last year. I was very worried about applying so late too and honestly only spent a couple of hours, so don't worry! I know umich apparently makes applicants wait a long time for a decision but I think being in state helps. Good luck!! and keep me updated!
  9. Hey everyone, I know I'm very late to this convo but I just found this forum! Congrats to all of you on your acceptances! I have already been accepted to Denver (applied 1/31), NYU (applied 1/15), and Umich (applied 1/31) and having a lot of trouble deciding between them! I got scholarships from Denver and NYU so both would only be a little more expensive than umich (I'm in state so it's pretty cheap). My concentration is mental health (I'm debating switching it though) and I know umich is probably the best option for me but I really don't want to stay in MI for much longer, and I've heard that it's hard to move around after finishing grad school because of licensing. Does anyone know if that is true or have any advice?? Also, did anyone else apply to UTexas - Austin? I'm still waiting to hear back from them (and Columbia)
