Who here is considering the thesis route or the research paper?    I'm leaning more towards the paper as it doesn't get  "defended before a formal thesis board"   However my wife is trying to persuade me that the thesis option is a better way to go.  I prefer to be in the background and do research but that's just me...

I just started looking into this yesterday. I would like to do the thesis route to keep the PhD avenue open (although, being honest that route seems like a longshot) ... I'm just trying to determine whether I'll be able to manage doing a thesis while also working full-time in government (I don't want to scale back to part-time work, part-time school).

Thanks! Just refreshed the page and my application is now "Review in progress by department"

How long should my application be in "Preliminary review required" stage? My references uploaded their letters on 31 January, so I know I'm probably towards the bottom of the list. Just hoping to get a rough idea of when I can expect my status to move for NPSIA.
