  1. I was like ~enn one guy is missing.. now you are here! Congrats!
  2. Anyone knows what happens after being admitted? What is the next thing I should expect (other than finance, of course)?
  3. Just got the letter. I have been admitted.
  4. Nothing yet. Fingers crossed.
  5. I think only selected people will be actively posting things here. Anyway, they will let us know on or before next Wednesday so fingers crossed!
  6. Just got the interview invitation. I guess I should just try to be myself and finger crossed until Apr 15. Wish everyone good luck! BTW anyone knows the ratio of interviews among all applicants?
  7. Since the whole nation is currently WFH (working from home), I am assuming the process will be slightly delayed but probably not too much thanks to Zoom, Slack, Google meet etc. The visa concern you brought is valid. It takes 1-2 months for an international student to schedule and interview for an F-1 visa. The time frame can easily stretch to 3-4 months due to lack of interview slot at a busy consular/embassy, and administrative processing (i.e. "check") by the department of state. Considering there is a portion of F-1 international students in every cohort, I think Matt will keep the admission criteria unchanged, and expand the wait list in case candidates can't make their ways to the US. It means more hope for some candidates, and more waiting for some candidates. Some local candidates in the wait list may get notification even in the summer. Just my 2 cents.
  8. Massive international students are affected by the virus because oversea US embassies just suspended all visa applications for an indefinite period of time. If things dont get better in a month or two many will miss 20 Fall. I am guessing some programs with quota to fill may give strong preference to local candidates, while other programs may just close doors to everyone. Think about a plan B - it may work better than plan A when you look back in 10 years.
  9. Nothing yet. It's kinda interesting to see empty results survey as of Mar 17, 2020. Based on previous years' data people usually add interviews quickly after they receive them. I guess the COVID-19 is causing the delay?
  10. For programs still in the reviewing phase - is the admission process delayed due to lockdown/WFH/social distancing? How do universities and colleges handle such situation? Any insider willing to share how their admission work is being affect?
  11. One day It will be given the current trend of climate change. I am dreaming of SCUBA diving in Vail, Colorado one day.
  12. I have decided to do some spring skiing to hopefully get rid of my anxiety in waiting.
  13. Nothing yet.
