  1. Wagner is well respected and known within NYC nonprofits and government. You can take a look at their outcomes page to see whether graduates have gone afterwards. I’m not familiar with the other programs that you mentioned. I’ve many friends and colleagues who had good experiences at Wagner and then went on to interesting jobs in nonprofits and government.
  2. Up to 18 credits can be taken without paying additional tuition. More info under FAQ: http://bulletin.columbia.edu/sipa/registration/#faqtext I think the minimum number of credits is 12. Classes are usually 4, 3, 1.5, or .5 credits and tuition is charged by semester, not per credit.
  3. I’m in the same boat. Deciding between Wagner and SIPA. I’m interested in domestic policy and non-profits. Wagner is strong in those areas and they offered some funding, whereas SIPA did not. Leaning toward NYU for those reasons, but still considering SIPA for program strength, name recognition, and alumni network. Open to ideas!
  4. I got in without aid. My estimates put SIPA at about 120k before living expenses. I received stronger offers from other schools. I can’t seriously consider attending SIPA if I would leave with that level of debt. That’s just me, every situation is different!
