alright smart people. Breathe. I still have not heard anything yet not even login info. Wine distraction and whiskey distraction aside - we have no control over what is already decided. Perhaps being in the moment and thinking what an interesting study this might be ? or not, back to being in the moment...breathe into the fact (one thing we can call a fact) that we all made it to this moment because we conceived of important work. And let it go!

Well in my mind...the universities have the control and they haven't released the login yet because they have to prepare for what is great! LOL

I don't either. My mind is making up all kinds of stories. ?

I have cleaned blinds, gone shopping for a orbital sander, only to find out it had no battery, went back to get the battery pack (both curbside pick up so no checking the product physically, got home, and realized I also need a separate charger. Sigh. I thought I would surprise my husband and sand our deck rails to prepare for staining but not at this cost! Unless I am successful of course ? Going for a walk now. Still in the Rockies and I have good clean air and tons of green around me ?

We will probably be the ones who find out May 1st. Sigh.

Let's reframe - if we were not selected, we did not lose. We simply were not selected. It is like figure skating or any other judged event. There are political, social, cultural and personal biases that enter into a reading of our applications. We are all winners in the sense that you are in a PhD program and you will not have lost your work, you/I were simply read by someone who had other priorities. Peptalk to myself. ?

Maybe they are doing direct applications first then? I am an L and committee 4. Nothing yet.

I believe they will back date funding if you selected May 1.

My guess is they wait till it's 8:30 am in BC (how I rationalize not checking my email!)

and 80% of us will wonder why we spent so much mental energy on this deductive reasoning while the other 20% celebrate!

It was posted on twitter on the 15th of April so I assume that person got it that day, the day before announcements, but can't be certain.

and from my grad awards office "Nothing yet, but, hopefully soon." At least the wait is less than one week...hopefully.

At least no news is just that, no news. We are all still potential winners!

I guess I best get back to writing my literature review. Sigh. I hope you'all have a great weekend. I am in the Rockies so at least I have great scenery!

I am wondering if we might hear today since they are not mailing the results but using an online format and today would have been when the mail would have gone out. Trying to keep busy!

Looks like UBC and UOttawa have made a couple of SSHRC doctoral announcements on Twitter. Still waiting at the UofA.
