How long does it generally take to go from a department recommending you for admission to the official letter from the grad division? I feel like my acceptance is an "acceptance" till this happens...my paranoia never ends...
For the "where else did you apply?" question -- I only applied to one school. Is this horrible and should I spend tons of time justifying my answer or is this OK? You'd think it's the ultimate sign of "interest"
How about "casual" (specifically for girls, but guys are welcome to weigh in as well! )? I'm hesitant to show up in jeans and a t-shirt, but I don't want to be the prissy over-dressed one either...
Thanks!
Ahh, from what I heard, MCB sent out their invites before Christmas, I'm sorry But I didn't apply to that department, so maybe someone else has more definitive answers there! For the ones that are ongoing, I think they wait to see how many people respond by some set deadline that they give the first batch sent out to see if they can afford to invite more.
One of the labs I'm interested is an acronym and is capitalized a bit unusually (only a few letters are lowercase) and in my SOP, I capitalized it incorrectly. I can't believe it -- I read the website 100x, checked over my SOP 100x...and now it looks like I just carelessly skimmed both
Whoa...I noticed someone got an interview from Berkeley MCB! I thought Berkeley didn't really send anything out till January...has anyone else heard (from MCB or other bio-ish Berkeley departments)?
