I second this. When I spoke to my POI earlier this year he said that some professors prefer to do the unofficial notices while others rather wait until the school decides to send all notifications

I’ve also been waiting endlessly. One school told me I should hear back by early February and now I’m starting to lose hope haha

Ahh! Have you all seen the first SHIPS acceptance?

It’s both a blessing and a curse! I’ve tried not to read into our communication because the POI assured me they were meeting with other students as well. I’m sure most POI’s maintain positive relationships with the prospective students who contact them because they won’t know who actually receives an admit

We began communication in September and touched based a few times eventually meeting over Zoom for what I assume was an informal interview in late November haha. He was very supportive throughout the application process and reassured me I could ask him whatever I was curious about, so I figured checking-in regarding decisions wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Hey folks. Much like you all I’m anxiously waiting for results. I reached out to my POI last week to ask about when we should expect to hear final decisions and he responded that notifications dates change every year but he will look into it and get back to me (I’m imagining he’ll just wait for decisions to come out this week). I specifically applied to the SHIPS - history of Ed program, good luck to us all!

It feels SO good to find other Ed folks I applied to: Stanford (SHIPS - history of ed), UIUC - (EPOL - history of ed) Will be applying to: UW-Seattle (Social/Cultural foundations) This is my first time applying to PhD programs so I'm pretty nervous especially because I am only applying to 3 schools, but whatever happens happens haha. Anyone else applying to these places? always happy to connect!

I reached out to a few different professors and all of them but one said they didn't meet with students prior to decisions. The one who did respond was pretty helpful and we spoke a few times! I am happy to talk more via PM

Yes, from my understanding this is true. I'm sure they've said they don't/haven't interviewed Ed.M candidates--in reviewing previous threads people also confirm this.

I'd like to hope they send out decisions today so we can calmly look through the catalog tomorrow haha!

I very eagerly already started planning sample schedules haha...hopefully it won't go to waste!

They intend on offering a lot of different options from my understanding. They posted a tentative list of classes being offered and denoted some of the ones that will be offered at varied times to accommodate time zone differences which I presume will also allow people with work schedules to enroll too.

I'd agree! I'm thinking between 4:30-5:30 on Friday, I've already had a couple of dreams about decisions coming out haha so I'm looking forward for the waiting game to end.

I was hoping this week too haha! I called admissions the other day and they said decisions will be released by August 1st, so I'm siding with Oden that they might just be out July 31st.
