Just an update, I got a call from York University and was accepted into their advanced standing MSW.

For York, from previous comments, somebody called them and the office said March.

Oh I am not sure if I am considered a very strong applicant, reading applicants background from last year, I consider myself pretty average. But the experience working in the paed onco field is definitely insightful and humbling. I am hoping to do my practicum in the hospitals or at least in a health care related position.

I have foreign BSW, second up, 83% gpa. With 5 years of full time international social work experience in the medical/health care field working for children with cancer and their families, and two years of full time research experience in Uni focusing mostly on family-centered practice (that's from almost 6 years ago). My references are a professor that taught me two courses during undergrad, post-doc fellow that supervised me when I worked in research and my direct manager when I worked as a social worker. Not sure if the references are considered as strong but they do write very nice things about me. However, I am sure most referees do try to write their best. It's my first time applying and I was in Health and Mental Health Stream. Hope it helps, and all the best!

I also received an official offer letter from UofT for Health and Mental Health. Can't be 100% sure of the offer until I saw the letter 🥹

I am just doing this because I saw people asked, I am not sure if that's alphabetical actually...... Hopefully this is not misleading.

I received an offer from UofT AS, I applied to two streams but my 1st priority is Mental Health and Health. My last name is K. I will likely accept the offer as I only applied to UofT and York and UofT is my first choice. All the best to everyone.

Would you mind sharing which stream did you applied to? Also, big congratulations!!

Oh, according to the posts last year, that's definitely a good sign but I don't see anything in my Acorn, I announce it is the official time for me to freak out.

I am an international student with BSW, hoping to apply for MSW 2021 in canada. It appears that Laurier and Lakehead are two popular schools here, while UT and UBC seem to be mentioned less frequently (esp UBC). I wonder why Laurier and Lakehouse are with such high reputation among prospective students?
