I just received an acceptance from University of Maryland this morning!!! I'm still in disbelief as my last LOR was approved on 3/12! It was the only program I applied to and I'm going to accept - thanks to everyone here for your support and info sharing throughout this process! Only yesterday I was feeling regretful that I applied so close to the deadline. Don't lose hope!!

Has anyone who applied heard back from UMD lately? I think the last time someone posted about an acceptance here was mid Feb.

Someone posted here a couple weeks ago that they were accepted to UMD. I just completed my app last week, received an invite yesterday to create a UMD ID, but it explicitly said that it is not an admissions letter. Was a little confused by that

I am finishing up an app close to the deadline as well... does anyone know if traditionally applying on or near the deadline as opposed to earlier lessens your chances at all?

Hi! I have narrowed my list down to three schools after researching and contemplating since June. UMD is my top choice because of the convenience to where I currently live and the opportunities for field placement in the area. I haven't been able to attend any info sessions yet but plan to do so throughout September. Have the info sessions been useful for you? What kind of questions do you usually ask? @MSWKelly @LML2021 The regular deadline for UMD isn't until March 15, but their app opens on September 1. I'm planning to ask for letters of recommendation in September and apply by late Oct/early Nov. What does a typical timeline looks like for requesting letters of rec. look like?

Hi all, I've been researching MSW programs since early June and have narrowed my list down to 3 schools, University of Maryland being my top choice. I noticed their application for Fall 2021 opens September 1st. I don't think I'll have a complete application ready by then but I'm thinking late October, early Nov. would be my target deadline to apply. How early is too early and for those who have done it before - when did you apply in relation to when the app opened, when did you ask for your letters of rec, what did your overall timeline look like? I appreciate it, thanks!
