Hi everyone! I'm looking to apply to EdS School Psych programs, here's my current list:
U of Minnesota, UW Stout, UW River Falls, UW Eau Claire, U of Northern Colorado
It seems from looking at their admissions stats that they all had around a 20% acceptance rate for the 2019 to 2020 cycle, so I'm a little nervous. I graduated with a BA in psychology and 3.66 GPA. Here is a list of my experience:
-2.5yrs volunteer as crisis counselor at crisis hotline
-2yrs of Dance Marathon, an organization that raises $ for pediatric cancer
-3yrs research assistant in lab taking data on patients with dementia
-1yr research assistant working with a professor on meta analysis investigating efficacy of treatments for women with postpartum depression
-2yrs research assistant in lab focusing on ADHD and childhood psychopathology
-current job which I started in May, working as a Behavior Technician with autistic children
I was originally planning to go the PhD route, hence why I accumulated a lot of research experience. I'm hoping to get 2 letters of rec from professors that I did research with and 1 from a supervisor at my current job. Opinions on my chances at these programs? Advice on how to make my application as strong as possible? Thanks!!
