Yep I haven’t heard from them either. I don’t think Harvard has sent out any invites yet because the results page would have been flooded otherwise. Probably some people trolling on the results page about getting invites so let’s hang in there!

I picked a date because I figured that there probably wouldn’t be an interview from other universities held any earlier than that anyway. I think it’s safe enough to pick one! Good luck!

Wow we actually have a lot of similarities! I'm an international student with a MSc in microbiology from the UK, and I'm applying for microbiology/immunology programs as well. I'm applying to Harvard (BBS, Immunology, BPH), Indiana, Vanderbilt, Rochester, Cornell (microbiology), Baylor COM, Rutgers (Microbial Biology and Molecular Biosciences), Michigan State, Northwestern DGP, Penn State (BMMB), Buffalo, Augusta, and Nebraska Medical Center. I also received an invitation from Indiana so far. I'm looking forward to it! Which date did you pick? I chose January 8th.

I can definitely see how they’re both related. When I had issues with my gut, I was lethargic all the time; I’d even start falling asleep while driving! That’s why I’m so interested in researching more about it! And yeah PIs can make a huge difference. They make or break your whole experience. Keep going at it!! It’ll definitely come true! Mark my words ?

Same!! I’m already prepping myself for no invite from Harvard because let’s be real. It’s not our fault as long as we tried hard; it’s just that there are more competitive applicants out there.

My top choice is Harvard BBS lol, which frankly is a dream, and if I get an interview, it’ll most likely be because of my SOP and my LORs. I’m absolutely convinced ? Yeah I’ve already seen on the results page invites sent out to some unis that I’ve applied to, but I’m not nervous anymore cuz I’ve at least secured an invite. How was your research?? Did you enjoy it? What was the overall theme? I’m interested in how the gut microbiome affects other disease states and how it interacts with the immune system. What’s your research interest? ?

I heard that program is amazing! I applied to Immunology, Microbiology, and Virology, and I haven’t reached out to any PIs tbh. Mainly it’s because it’s not my top top choice, so I won’t be too hurt if I don’t get an acceptance. I didn’t know that they’re accepting less students though! COVID’s impact is pretty bad at this point. I think you’ll be fine as long as you’ve reached out and matched the qualifications that their students have. I’ll give you a trick that I always use. As long as you verbally wish something into existence, like “I’m going to get into Rochester” or “I will go to Rochester”, then your likelihood of getting there is higher. There’s just something about calling it into existence that makes it work. Just keep saying it, and have faith! You’ll get in for sure! I kinda did that with my top second choice uni, and the night before I got the invite for the interview, I dreamt about getting the interview. Pretty creepy but miraculous. Stay hopeful!! You’ll definitely get in!

That’s also true tbh! I faced that when I applied for a master’s, and it was pretty difficult, but now, I just feel so anxious that I wish I can get at least one offer. That’s why I’m also wondering whether it’s even possible that I can get more than one offer with how competitive it all is right now. Honestly best of luck to all of us, and I hope that we all get into our dream schools so that we don’t have to overthink anything.

At this point, I’m hoping I’ll have the luxury to choose! People that have that opportunity are really lucky ? I really really hope that they’ll be able to sense it since I don’t have much research experience under my belt. Fingers crossed! It’s great that you’re going global!! Good luck with that! Mine are all in the US, and I only have like 3 left, but I’m just so tired now after submitting for the December 1st deadline ? Thanks ? and no I just deduced it from the results section here. Harvard gives me the impression that they’re pretty timely so I think we’ll know before Christmas. Then again, I’m making too many assumptions at this point. There’s a lot to do, but I’m still fixated on refreshing graduate and my inbox ? I need to wrap up another SOP, prepare for interviews (in the hopes that I’ll get one anyway lol), and apply for jobs too. I’m applying for microbiology and immunology programs, and I’m super passionate about the gut microbiome! Even though I haven’t done research on it specifically, I’ve seen its impact on my life, and I hope I get the opportunity to study it. Problem is, it’s the top unis that do research in this field, so even though I’m applying to lower rank universities, I don’t think my enthusiasm shines as much as the ones that have microbiome research ? So have you applied to just 3 universities or have you gone for more? In my case, I’m totally not confident so I’m applying to around 15 ?

Same here!! I keep thinking about the BBS program all day and all night ? I’m so passionate about the program and the research there that I’m praying my SOP reflects my enthusiasm. I’m banking on Harvard’s ability to see potential and take a risk on some people rather than other unis’ hardline qualifications. That’s why I didn’t apply to too many top tier unis anyway. I really hope all of our dreams come true! And yeah I’ll keep you updated for sure! I do know that Harvard’s decisions come in late next week or early the week after so I shouldn't be checking my inbox all the time ? I’m honestly praying for a miracle. Also what’s your field of interest by the way?

I applied to Harvard’s BBS and Vanderbilt’s IGP! The anxiety is real for these applications. I was going to apply for UPenn but I knew I didn’t stand a chance anyway
