  1. Hi! I had a prelim interview with my poi (J.G) earlier this week, and the email I was sent from him said they do prelims before they do official interviews as part of their process. Since each poi seems to contact people directly, I am unsure if all of the professors have sent out prelim interview invites or not, but I saw a few people comment about prelims as well. I hope this is helpful! Best of luck to you!
  2. Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask if anyone had any tips for what to prepare for a preliminary interview with Kent State? It is my first one (this is my first year applying) and I am very nervous! In the email I got from my PI, it said that this would be to "learn more about the program, ask questions, etc." He sent me a list of his current projects, so I have a couple of clarifying questions about his ongoing projects as well as a few questions about where he may be looking to expand upon different areas of his research, but I do not know if I should prepare anything else? Should I try to bring up things about my application that I want to highlight? Any help, guidance, or personal experience would be appreciated. Happy New Year!!!
  3. I also got the same email from the graduate school! I am glad I am not the only one, I was getting a little worried maybe they missed my application or something. Not sure what this means.... do schools normally let you know if you are on a waitlist or will they just.... let you wait and email you if an interview spot opens up (first time applying so I am not sure of the protocol here)?
  4. Thank you very much for your response and encouragement! Unfortunately, I got my rejection letter from UF today, but I am trying to remain positive for the other schools I applied to. Best of luck to you in your search!
  5. Thank you for the information! Here's hoping for the waitlist. Best of luck to you!
  6. Hi everyone! I noticed on the big list of interview offers that people were listing both University of Kentucky and University of Florida for their clinical psychology programs. Does anyone know if these schools tend to release all of their interview requests on one day or is it spread out by POI? Should I give up hope that I will get an interview offer from these schools since it seems like a lot of people have already gotten interviews for these programs? Thanks!
  7. Okay that makes me feel a little better haha! I am looking to primarily work with adults and in a hospital setting, so I looked for programs that had closer ties to various hospital practicum/internship sites, plus of course tried to find a professors who had similar research interests (TBI, SOLs, Alzhiemer's) and seemed to have good access to neuroimaging equipment since that's also a big part of the research I want to be involved in. I don't really know if that makes any of them "stand out," but that was the criteria I used to narrow down to the ten I applied to lol.
  8. Hi everyone! New to the platform and first year applying! I was just wondering if anyone else here is applied specifically to programs that have Neuropsychology concentrations and who you applied to? Also, does anyone know if having this kind of specific interest helps or hurts your chances of being admitted based on past experience? Good luck to everyone applying!
