Has anyone heard anything from Eastman? I had my theory interview over three weeks ago on Jan. 21 (and it sounds like musicology interviews were the same day) but haven't heard a word since then.

Huge congrats on Cornell!! I was rejected from Harvard as well, but did get into Indiana last week. Still waiting to hear from CUNY, Princeton, Columbia, and Yale.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I think it usually takes longer for music theory as well. Looking at previous years' results, it seems that Harvard hasn't even consistently done interviews every year...

Thanks so much for the helpful info! I still haven't heard anything from Yale, but who knows what next week will bring. Still haven't heard anything from Harvard - have you? I see someone received a composition acceptance today, though, so maybe the musicology and theory programs had more applications to review/are sending interview invitations out later than composition?

Thank you!! I'm really shocked with how many interview invites I've received -- I certainly did not expect this outcome. Huge congrats on your Yale interview!! That's a fantastic school. Do you know if they sent out all of their interview invites today (including theory)? I saw someone post an interview invite for Yale's theory program on the results page, but haven't heard a word from them. Still waiting to hear back from Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Chicago, and Princeton...

I recently received my first acceptance into WashU's music theory PhD program! My Indiana interview is this weekend, CUNY interview is next week, and Northwestern interview is the following week. This will be a crazy month for sure!

Has anyone heard anything from Harvard yet (theory, musicology, or ethnomusicology)? It seems that in previous years they have typically sent out interview invites by now...

I'm really shocked about that, too! I received an interview invite from Washington University in St. Louis on Wednesday, and had my Eastman interview yesterday, but haven't heard from any other schools this week. Fingers crossed we hear something within the next week...

Haha, no problem at all! But yeah I was super shocked by that too?? I guess any day at any time is fair game for hearing from these schools, lol. Also, I've been wondering if some schools update their online portals without sending email notifications? If so, I need to start checking my portals regularly because I haven't been doing that?

@QueerTrumpeterYeah, I expected the same for Harvard given its super recent deadline but it seems like historically they review applications very quickly. Haha, I'd love to wake up to some news tomorrow, too! I'm not sure if they send out decisions on MLK day or not, but I received an interview invite from Florida State on New Year's Eve, so it might be possible? And nope, I haven't heard from UChicago yet. Based on results from previous years, it looks like they don't do interviews and release decisions by late January/early February each year.

Wow, your research interests sound absolutely fascinating! Those are all great schools. Congrats on the interviews!! I'm a music theory PhD applicant, but I also applied to Eastman, Harvard, and UChicago. Have you heard anything from Harvard? Based on results from previous years, it seems like Harvard typically sends out interview invites around this time every year for all of their music PhD programs, but I haven't heard anything from them yet. I did see that someone got a composition interview invite yesterday, though.
