  1. I am SHAKING oof (also I j want to say I've been seen your journey since last year and your posts have been v inspiring, literally was the happiest I've ever been for a total stranger when I saw you got off the waitlist :'))
  2. CONGRATULATIONS that’s amazing!!! so happy for you!!!
  3. I think this cycle has officially sent me cuckoo bc I just spent like 5 mins straight laughing at the terrible tufts pun on the results page
  4. Hi! This list of questions might be helpful: https://forum.thegradcafe.com/topic/62633-campus-visits/?do=findComment&comment=1058227359
  5. I feel ya- movement without any answers is beyond stressful.
  6. Not sure about Buffalo specifically, but MA decisions usually come out later
  7. Frankly, I would say yes, what with the situation. The university website says it is closed until Wednesday- it's possible we'll start hearing back after then. I know how anxiety-inducing it is, but it's hardly an urgent matter.
  8. exactly! It's such a strange game with so many things factoring into decisions, many of them being luck, that knowing you're a perfect fit just serves for more anxiety rather than hope !
  9. It's unfortunate that my top-choice programme which would be a PERFECT fit for me is the one that's been totally silent... If I'd heard back from them first (with a rejection, I'm sure), I feel like I could actually sleep at night lol
  10. Run out of reactions, but j want to mention that I was given this exact same advice by multiple profs.
  11. No problem haha- I was j hoping I didn’t sound like I have any proper knowledge of how tf the weird mystery of admissions works, since I’m pretty damn clueless and I’m pretty much j clutching at straws with my posts ?
  12. Leaving this to someone more qualified to answer (shutout pending, decided not to reach out to any POIs, I don't think #2 is a thing but, again, am super underqualified to answer that)
  13. thanks sm for the info— I’m going to assume this is the case and take it as an implied rejection for my sanity’s sake.
  14. edit: looks like nobody’s heard back today yet, so there’s a divergence from to previous years. ignore my tea-leaf reading lol?
  15. Likely not quite yet, based on the past usually acceptances are contacted directly (usually by their poi) on Friday evening/Saturday morning either by phone or email. after Saturday, however, I’d say you can take it as an implied rejection. Also, Rutgers seem to have a bad habit of updating statuses on the portal for waitlists and rejections without sending out an email (usually early in the following week from when acceptances have gone out).
  16. I’m pretty sure this is not a bad sign— at least that’s what I gathered from the trawling through various posts I did when I got the update. Wishing the best for all of us ??
  17. Mine has said this for a long time (v early in January). From what I’ve gathered it doesn’t really mean anything.
  18. christ this is comedically tone-deaf... sorry you had to be on the receiving end of that dumpster fire
  19. I guess it's typical of lit students to be particularly sensitive to this, but a nicely-worded rejection in an email from an actual person really softens the blow of rejection in comparison to a poorly-worded, generic letter from no particular person posted on a portal. Especially when that letter costs $120 lol
