Has anyone gotten communication from GEM at all? My transcript still shows as not received additionally I haven’t heard anything about submitting intern summary reports and apparently we need to do that for our internships at the end of it. this is from the website: ”You are required to prepare a summary report explaining your internship experience, and provide a copy of that report to your supervisor and to the GEM Office no later than 2 weeks after the completion of your internship.”

Has anyone had any word from GEM yet since your university and/or sponsor signed the contract?

Yes sorry for the late reply I was specifically emailed to send my transcripts in because I am a Full Fellow. It is for the Employers to verify I believe.

Yes so the website says the following information: "Official transcripts are only required if selected for confirmation. When sending official transcripts, please mail the following address once an applicant has received confirmation of GEM Employer sponsorship as a potential GEM Fellow via email. We recommend that an official transcript be mailed POSTMARKED no later than March 31st. GEM also accepts secure official eTranscripts emailed from the institution at Fellowships@gemfellowship.orgThe National GEM Consortium1430 Duke StreetAlexandria, VA 22314 " I wouldn't worry about the March 31st date btw. I think as long as you send it before May 1st you are ok.

Has anyone else's universities had issues with sending the GEM contract in the portal? My University has been trying for weeks to get my contract to say full fellow in the portal but all they can issue is an associate fellow contract when I have an employer. Not sure what to do... the university has been in contact with GEM but the portal hasn't been fixed for me and its been several weeks. Any ideas of what to do as next week is the deadline

Hey everyone I have a few more questions about this GEM process. I have a company sponsor and also just signed my University support agreement but for some reason the University support agreement in the GEM portal did not mention me being a "Full Fellow" or my sponsor but an "Associate Fellow". Is this typical that the University Support Agreement only says you are a "Associate" even if you are a full fellow. They are definitely aware that I have an Employer. I am wondering if this is typical for the University support agreement b/c there is also an Employer support agreement that I signed (so two contracts). Also how long did it take you "Confirmed Contract Pending" Status to be fully confirmed by GEM. Thanks everyone and good luck!

For those of you that have officially been accepted by an employer what does your portal say under “employer member status”? I have received an offer from an employer that I have accepted but for some reason my portal still says “matched”. I contacted GEM and they said that is something they cannot update but only the employer can. My employer is a GEM sponsor but it’s weird because they don’t extend the offer through the GEM portal but externally so that is why the portal isn’t updating. Any of you guys receive GEM employer offers outside the portal and if so how did you get your status changed to show the employer?

I am so sorry to hear that. If I was you I would reach out to other Universities you got accepted to and tell them you have an employer sponsor and if they would be willing to sponsor you as a full fellow. This process is definitely confusing.

Hey guys. I am honestly confused by this whole process. I am currently in the final round of interviewing with a company and I am confused on the process of getting selected as a GEM Full fellow. If this company chooses to sponsor me do I notify the University I got accepted to (and want to go to) and tell them a company is sponsoring me and if they will take me on as a Full Fellow? Or as soon as the company gives me an offer they contact the Universities I apply to and tell them they are sponsoring me and the school can decide from there if they will sponsor me? Basically what I am asking is am I supposed to be doing the leg work, the company, or GEM?

Hey everyone. So i reached out to the GEM representative at my university about when they will make decisions and she said it depends on the actual program you applied to to make decisions. I thought decisions were made at a University level not a program level. I am not sure my program has no any idea of what a GEM fellowship is. She recommended me to reach out to the specific program's coordinators at the school but I don't even know what to write to them if they have never heard of the GEM fellowship. Have any of you guys dealt with this?

Does anyone know when Universities start deciding for GEM Associate and GEM University fellowships? I think in the seminar last month they said Companies would reach out first then GEM would recommend us for a Associate of University Fellowship but not sure when?

Hi! Do any of you guys know if you accept a company offer for an employer this means you have to intern for them every summer you are in graduate school? Or is it just this summer? Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
