  1. Just contacted Texas A&M about the status of my application only to find out that I'd been put on the waitlist. Don't know what to make of it, but I am trying to stay positive.
  2. This is super @kmccorm327. Thanks a lot for the elaborate response. I had to google tailgate btw (we don't have that in Ghana, where I am from, or in Turkey, where I have lived for the past 8 years). It seems fun. I already have an offer from UMASS but I suppose I may have to reconsider if ND makes an offer. Thanks once again.
  3. Hi good people, I have a virtual house/interview with Notre Dame next week and I kinda feel positive about it (not to count my chickens before they are hatched lol). From what I gather, ND is a bit conservative due to the Catholic background (not a problem for me). But I was wondering how much that affects the whole graduate and uni experience considering I would spend the next 5 years or so there. I will appreciate any useful info regarding life in ND.
  4. Hi there @HolyGinger I wouldn't worry much about the GRE as many admission committee members have pointed out that they either ignore it entirely or only refer to it at the end. I hope you receive some good news soon. P.S. I am also a Hacettepe graduate
  5. IMO...Either is enough to produce just about any quantitative analysis. Personally I find Stata more reliable, albeit expensive. R however has got better graphics. I may be biased though because I use STATA. ... Rejected: UCSD, Wisconsin-Madison, Princeton, Michigan Ann-Arbor (assumed), Texas A&M (assumed), Vanderbilt (assumed) Pending: Notre Dame (Interview), UC Riverside (interviewed in Jan), MIT, Yale, Syracuse, Florida Accepted: UMASS Amherst (w/funding)
  6. Yup, I'm sure we will have at lease one claim in this forum if it were real ... Rejected: UCSD, Wisconsin-Madison, Princeton, Michigan Ann-Arbor (assumed), Texas A&M (assumed), Vanderbilt (assumed) Pending: Notre Dame (Interview), UC Riverside (interviewed in Jan), MIT, Yale, Syracuse, Florida Accepted: UMASS Amherst (w/funding)
  7. While I really hope that it remains optional or even completely hacked out, I doubt that will happen. Chances are it will be reinstated as a way of curbing the spike in the number of applicants
  8. Anyone claiming the UMich acceptance?
  9. claiming Princeton rejection
  10. I am sorry about that. I hope you receive some good news soon.
  11. Same here. I received an email from chair about the virtual fair not long after the offer letter came in
  12. Thank you. I received an email with a pdf of the offer letter attached.
  13. Thank you. I noticed you've got an offer too. My sub is CP. Yours?
  14. Just received an offer from UMASS Amherst. I am over the moon right now. I had given up after not receiving any offer last Friday. Good luck everyone.
  15. Thanks for the heads up and congratulations
  16. One person claimed waitlist on gradcafe and another in this forum. I'm guessing it's the same person
  17. I have seen 1 waitlist from UMass Amherst. Has anybody else heard from them?
  18. Oops. I guess I can safely assume I didn't get in
  19. Seems like all claims from Princeton so far are AP. Maybe there is still hope for CP
  20. Has anybody from a sub-field other than AP claimed Princeton yet? Or is there still hope for us?
  21. Good to hear this. I have an interview with Notre Dame in a couple of weeks and I don't know know what to expect. This has been helpful
  22. I see. Have you tried contacting the department or sth?
  23. I hope to hear from them soon. Thanks, and Congratulations
  24. Thanks. International student here so I am guessing they wouldn't call anyway even if I got in. The wait is killing me. Congratulations btw
  25. @NeedaMormon May I ask when you heard from Texas A&M? Have been waiting but radio silence.
