Got into UCI and UCLA, rejected from UCB. UCLA’s visit weekend starts today so I would imagine they are done with first round acceptances. Got into UCI back in December but their acceptance timeline seems to be very unpredictable. Apparently Berkeley was extra selective this year so if you haven’t heard yet I’d assume you didn’t get in.

To respond to some of the Caltech questions: I was emailed on 1/11 for an interview that happened 1/12. Heard back on Sunday asking for a short zoom meeting which was today - it wasn't a second interview, just letting me know I was accepted. I'm in the organic division.

To update abt Caltech, I (organic) received an e-mail today asking if I was available for a <5min interview later this week. Didn’t specify why.

@bulldogs interesting! Do you happen to know anything about the organic interviews? I don’t believe anyone in the organic specialty has heard anything but idk how many people were interviewed.

Thanks! Yeah I couldn’t remember if she said it was definitively Friday or just that it was a possibility. I’m not too worried but I am puzzled by the fact that inorg vs organic are doing their admission processes differently? Seems odd since it’s such a small dept.

Has anyone in the organic division who got an interview heard back from Caltech yet? I thought we were supposed to by Friday. I saw someone from inorganic got a second interview.
