I got an acceptance email. No information about scholarships. Maybe that'll come when the portal updates.

Congratulations, friend!  I just have to say, too--your posts just make me so happy every time I see them, and I think you're a really delightful, lovely, old-souled type of person overall.  I somehow imagine you as a literary chap, clad in plaid, with a paddy hat, smoking a pipe, conversing in an English pub with the likes of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and other Inklings, scribbling away late into the night on your stories, and the wholesomeness of that just makes my heart feel all warm and lovely inside. ? All that to say: I am so, so happy for you that this season is really turning out great for you, and I hope you get funding so you can attend your program of choice. You've got it, and can't wait to see how amazing your writing turns out, especially after being nurtured in one of these programs!

Just received the phone call for University of Florida! Very surprising as after eight rejections I had emotionally prepared for applying again next year. Anyways, they said they're only accepting two fiction and two poetry applicants this year, so I'm posting on the off chance that anyone here has attended and can answer questions about the program, or if any of my fellow acceptees are here.

Okay, next time I need a school to respond, I will just post here first, haha.
Received an email this afternoon from M.O. Walsh, the director of The Creative Writing Workshop at the University of New Orleans, to invite me into the program for the Fall Term!
Woo-hoo! (And good news for all who applied, as the word should be getting out soon enough too, I hope, one way or another)
Sadly, there is no information about funding (the tragic nature of my delightedness in being accepted is that I'm not quite good enough to be offered monies, not yet anyway, lol), but I (as other applicants I'm sure) am being placed forward for consideration with scholarships and Graduate Assistant positions.  I did the only rational thing and emailed back thanking Mr. Walsh and informing him I was ready to do anything necessary to put my name forward for funding as that will be the only thing that will make my final decision for me.
This is why I chose the 8 schools I did: all schools I wanted to go to, all schools I would have fought for.  Fairbanks remains my dream, but UNO was my second choice, so this app year has turned out interestingly for me.  I either made the best possible choices in schools, or I just know where my writing stands well enough to seek out programs that'll nurture/accept it.  Or both.  I have spent a lot of time writing (read: my entire life) and thinking about the damn writing.  Dividends needed to be paid at some point, goddamnit!
Once more into the fray!  I was not expecting this, but, of ALL the schools I applied to, I at least suspected I stood the best shot of getting into UNO with its larger cohort (20 this year, it seems, according to Poets & Writers, though obviously that includes all genres, etc.).
Anyway, sorry for the text dump, but yes, UNO is finally reaching out, they have returned from their arctic bunkers with decisions!

Toodles for now, and congrats to everyone who's received welcomed news from their schools this week!

Looks like all of the NYU waitlist notifications have gone out. I didn't hear anything, which I will admit stings, but one of my best friends got waitlisted for Poetry, so that eased the pain a little, in a way, since he's received nothing but rejections til now. I've got high hopes for him.

Update for ND folks: at least one prose acceptance has gone out, re: my friend who is currently in ND's creative writing program. Not sure if the lovely woman who posted on the results page here at GradCafe is the same notification my friend in the program was referring to, but it looks like they're starting to trickle out at least.
I haven't had any movement on my end (portal, email, or phone), but I hope this gives some answers to all of us who are waiting on dear old ND.

My apologies. ? I definitely have learned not to engage with our trollmeister the hard way--I was active on the forums last year, did engage with our troll, and ain't nobody got time to go down that rabbit hole again. ? I more took a shot in the dark based off the way you'd written a few phrases and to see if I still had my troll-sussing-out skills on point. (Masochistic amusement, I guess? I.e. I need to stop obsessively checking GradCafe for admission results.) I'm very, very glad my wires were crossed in this case, though, because that means that I get to congratulate you on your Brooklyn College movement as the real deal, woot!  That's a huge accomplishment, and I'm glad you left with a good impression of their program (based off your other post you just made about your interview with them as a finalist). Do you have an idea if you're going to go with their program yet?
Sorry again about misguessing about you troll-wise! I'm so glad I get to genuinely congratulate you instead.

Naw, this guy's not the troll. They've been pretty polite and uplifting (And trust me, if the troll was going to fake-claim they got in, they would do it a lot harder on one of their known troll accounts to be like, "See, I told you I know what I'm talking about!")
@panglosianHuge congrats on getting waitlisted! You've had a stellar season!

    Woo-hoo!
    Congrats, dude!
What sweet relief, no?  Thanks again for your notes on my work.  Proof enough you'll be a great addition to any cohort.
It's all right to have our Cinderella moments...  Knowing we have to work for them in lieu of getting our very own fairy godmother has never detracted from the simple grace of seeing it come true.
Here's to Hollins and a little pinch of luck!  The same for everyone else with their acceptances and waitlists!
One less on my list, and two more to go, phew.

    Cheers for now!

Are you asking me if I'm the troll? Honestly, if you saw me you'd laugh out loud at yourself, but more at me. But I have looked at some of these troll exchanges. The troll uses numbers, I believe. Some people have noted that already. At the risk of sounding like a mother, try not to engage.

As far as I know, he didn't get an official acceptance, but UC Irvine emailed him and said his application was read "with deep interest" and asked for additional writing samples to review.
If not a direct acceptance, definitely a sign that he's at the top of the pool =). Really hoping it works out.

Oh definitely. You can even set them to ignore so their posts don't show up. Just click on your name in the top right corner of the site, click on "Ignored users" and add them in. Every time I see a new account crop up, I do that.
Though I will say this: after this user has spent literally the entire season hounding me about how bad my writing is, I got in.
They were wrong about me. They were wrong about @mrvisser and @Ydrl too. Remember that if you're ever tempted to let the troll's discouraging comments get to you.
