@Happybuddha Ah thank you. I’ll crawl back into the hopelessness of waitlists. I can see you’ve gotten into SFU—me too! High five! One way or another, see you and fingers crossed for us!
@annawwwwwwwwthis is for the PhD in philosophy. Are you talking about the PhD in Phil too?
Hi guys! Congratulations to those who have been accepted to schools so far and all the very best to those who are still waiting! Fingers crossed!
I was waitlisted by USC earlier today and the waitlist email sounded particularly optimistic. I was told “we don’t have a numerical ranking but we certainly do have strong continuing interest in your candidacy.” When I wrote back, I was told that “I do think there is a decent chance you will get an offer.”
Have those of you who have been waitlisted at USC too received similarly optimistic notes? Or do I get to be just a little bit hopeful because of this wording?
Thanks!
Thanks all of you. Especially MtnDuck. That sheet has been a godsend. I’m now basically counting minutes to hear back from somewhere, anywhere. Although most schools, barring Berkeley, that I’ve applied to have been predicted to release in mid to late February. And even if the predictions are only predictions, given everything this year, delays are certainly more likely than surprise early acceptances.
Hello everyone! I’ve been lurking through like all of last year and have basicallly read every single thread from 2007. Finally gave in to the anxiety of waiting and made an account to be able to post and interact! So....the sheet says Berkeley will release on January 29th. Does anyone have any info on that? Delays due to Covid? I know someone who has received an acceptance in the South Asian studies department so far this year.
