I just got a mail from SVA Fine Arts accepting me into their program. I'm so happy but weirded out cus they'd said they'd be sending the letters by 1st April. This is wayyyy too early. I'm still very very thrilled. Although, its very expensive. I had a question- how do you ask for a scholarship? Do most colleges give financial aid in the first acceptance mail only? Or does a student have to request them separately? I just really hope I get a scholarship there but idk how to approach them or even if that's something they'd consider

Depends on where you get it. MFAs can be very cheap some places in Asia and even Europe

I absolutely disagree with this sorry. I already have an MFA, applying for another, got interviewed by 90% of the programs I applied to (7, that is, and only one rejection). And let me tell you, they're ALL top schools. All of the colleges I've applied to are either in the top 10 of USA or UK and sought-after programs too- like painting or sculpture. As to your advice that only one MFA is ideal, I've NEVER heard this. In fact many successful artists I know have 2 MFAs, sometimes more also. I'm sorry I don't mean to offend but you should be more thorough before giving unsolicited advices.

If you applied in the second round, they said they'll be contacting in the last week of March with direct acceptances/rejections. They rarely ever do interviews

But what if one has an interdisciplinary practice using lots of medium??? Or are we talking specifically about photography here

Has anyone interviewed here with Parsons? What kind of questions do they ask? It seems I'm the last one to be called for interview and am very intimidated seeing that their interview lasts 40 mins instead of the usual 20

This reminds me, I haven't mailed any of the interviewers after my interviews. Makes me think if its a necessary practice...

Ok so this hasn't happened to me but from what I assume, its quite possible for this to happen to a lot of people. Frankly if you feel like you did an adequate job of explaining your works, no matter if they were included in your portfolio or not, you should be fine. I would still suggest, if you feel anxious, for you to drop them a thank you mail in a day or so and thank them genuinely for their time
