  1. While I would like to agree with you (to give myself hope still), I don't think we can rely on the timetable of past years for Princeton. Yale usually sent all of their results out over the period of a day or two, but this year it looks like they sent out acceptances almost a week ago with no word yet for anyone else.
  2. Shhh I’m trying to delude myself into thinking there’s still a chance at Yale because I really hit it off with my POI in the fall and they were really interested in my project and how it fit with the department and other current students’ work
  3. Ah okay, congrats! It is strange they’re taking so long to notify those who are getting rejects because it looks like they usually release all decisions over the span of 1-2 days in typical years.
  4. Yeah that comment is pretty strange. And given what @history202- said he heard from Yale and Harvard, those timelines (especially Yale) doesn’t really seem like they’ve sent results out yet. Did anyone in the forum claim either a Yale or Harvard acceptance? (Sorry I’ve been away a few days and haven’t been keeping tabs)
  5. Congrats on the acceptance! Was it an email from the department or from your POI?
  6. Oh yeah, the political science survey page is filled with results for programs where people on the forum have reached out to the departments who have confirmed results haven’t even been released yet
  7. Ahh okay! If anything, I think this is actually a sign that you shouldn’t worry too much. I know a few people claimed waitlists on the survey page, but I don’t think anyone here has actually claimed them? And if waitlists and presumably acceptances have been sent out, why wait another couple weeks for rejections? Waitlists on the survey page could have been trolls (political science has a real problem with people posting troll results).
  8. I don’t think hearing that from the DGS is any indication either way. The DGS may have an internal deadline for result notification or generally know the history department’s timeline. I think it would be much more beneficial to reach out to the history department directly if you want more information because the DGS won’t know the specifics of what’s going on with each department.
  9. While I second this advice about not being glued to the results page or your email, I'll also admit it's easier said than done! I'm an Occasional Teacher (a supply teacher) and it was a snow day today in my school board so the school I was called to is absolutely empty and I'm just sitting here refreshing the results page and my email to pass the time ?
  10. That's so exciting! Fingers crossed for next week! Also I hope you don't mind that I copied your signature
  11. While I don't have anything to contribute re: BU, I'm not too surprised Yale didn't release results this week. While they did release them the first week of February last year, other schools are several weeks late so far with their results (Duke is over 2 weeks late and counting). I think its best if we just expect most schools to be at least 1 week late this year given COVID and what sounds like increased application numbers.
  12. I know it’s rough but don’t despair yet! You’ve still got a lot of irons in the fire and as my MA supervisor said to me, “You only need one.” You’ve got this!
  13. Hello everyone! I’m a longtime lurker who just wanted to create an account to wish you all the best of luck in the coming weeks! This is my second year applying but this year is certainly more stressful given the uncertainties around COVID so stay strong everyone! My focus is 20th century American history, with an emphasis on political history (specifically the welfare state/social policy and public policy more generally). I’ve applied to Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Duke, Stanford, Wisconsin and Michigan for history, and Berkeley for political science. Fingers crossed we start getting results soon!
