No response just yet. It's one of my top choices, so I will post once they respond.

I haven't heard anything from Maryland just yet but their application just closed on January 20th, 2021, So, I'm not sure if interviews are part of the process. Looking at previous data, it looks like College Park doesn't host interviews. I could be completely wrong but I will update once I get a response.

That is great! I am so glad to hear you received great news! Be sure to share the admit on the survey page if you haven't
-
I also emailed UCSC, UCSB, UCI, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, UMich, and University of Maryland - College Park
-
Yeah - I wanted to share in case any trolls posted on the survey and also to bring hope to those of us who are feeling a little discouraged at the moment (like me).
-
It was for Davis - Just made the correction on my OP. Thanks for pointing that out!

Response from UC Davis: ____ "Good morning [DanTheGrad], We expect to have decisions out by the end of week or early next week. I hope you are well. Jeremiah Thompson Graduate Program Coordinator UC Davis Political Science"
-
For all those wondering about Boston College - I emailed the program director to learn more about their application timeline and this was their response. ___ "Dear [DanTheGrad], Thank you for your email and your interest in our program. We have started making decisions and I expect that the rest of them will be made by next Monday at the latest. Best, Christopher Kelly" ___ Again, hope this helps.

For all those wondering about Michigan State University - I emailed the program assistant to learn more about their application timeline and this was their response. ___ "Dear [DanTheGrad], Thank you for your email. I can report that last week the admissions committee was meeting to make some decisions. I expect them to start sending notifications either this week or sometime into mid-February. Take care. Best, Sarah Krause Graduate Programs Assistant Michigan State University Department of Political Science" ____ Just wanted to share this with y'all to ease any anxiety.

This week started off with an early morning rejection from the University of Florida and it's hard not to feel a little depressed, discouraged, and more anxious. Still rooting for every single one of you - just wanted to share where I'm at right now.
-
To those who have heard from Boston College - How did they contact you? Via email or through the portal?
-
Congrats - That is great news! I just wanted to be sure it was a real admissions decision and not someone trying to mess with the rest of us. Again, congratulations on the admit! Hope you continue to receive more great news this cycle.

Anyone claiming the Boston College admit?

I think it was me. And while I will say that I was mostly joking, it kinda helps reduce my anxiety. This is a very anxious time for everyone, and we all deal with anxiety differently. For some, it might be easier to disconnect from their apps and wait it out. For me, I am currently dealing with the two-person problem where my partner of 5 years and I are applying to Ph.D. programs (he is neuroscience), and we are super anxious that we will be separated for the next 5-7 years. So I check my portals because 1) it helps me pass the time, and 2) it reminds me that I am still in the running for my programs and still have the chance to stay with my partner. I know you probably made this comment in good fun; still, I wanted to share my personal thought process on why I check portals multiple times a day. Wishing you a successful app cycle, and I'm rooting for you.

Yeah I got rejected on Jan 28, 2021 at 12:15 PM and received my invite to apply to the MPP or MIA program on Feb 8, 2021 at 11:24 AM.
-
I mean, since you know that UTA has started sending out decisions - it never hurts to contact the program coordinator/ assistant to see if all admission decisions have been sent out already or if they will be sent out on a rolling basis. I know we are all taught to be afraid of asking the program questions, but you need to do what feels right to you. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do!
-
Anyone else check each of their application portals multiple times a day at this point? or is it just me? ?
-
It wasn't me, but it looks like the same email I received last year. It was weird because they asked me if I would like to join their MPP or MIA program even though I was already in my second year of an MPP program at UCI. It really made me feel like they didn't really look at my application. I hope they didn't do the same to any one else this year

I chose American Politics (focus on the American presidency/political communication) for my subfield. I am not sure what BU's admissions process/timeline looks like, but I noticed that acceptances were sent out on the 24th and sent waitlists on the 25th. Plus, DGS only notified me of the waitlist decision via email and made no updates to my admission status on my online application. Maybe check your spam/junk folder to see if you have something from "Boston University - Graduate School of Arts and Sciences." If not, it never hurts to contact the program coordinator (Liam Dingle - ldingle@bu.edu) and ask if all admission decisions have been sent out or if they will be sent out on a rolling basis. I hope this helps, and I'm rooting for you!
-
Yeah, I feel the exact same way. I want to hear back from every program at this point, but I keep telling myself that no news is good news cause it means we are still in the running.
-
Just checking to see if anyone has heard from/made contact with any of these programs: UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, USC, UC Davis, Boston College, University of Michigan, Michigan State, University of Florida, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee I know this is a very long and stressful process, but it doesn't hurt to check in with y'all. Best of luck to everyone!
-
Not a dumb question - it took me forever to learn what it meant last year! It stands for the number of programs you have been Admitted to, Waitlisted, or Rejected by during the cycle. P stand for pending a response.
-
I received an email from Boston University placing me on the waitlist. A little bummed that it is not a straight-up admit, but I STILL HAVE A CHANCE!!!! That said, I know we are all waiting for more offers to come in before making any decisions. Still, if/when you decide you aren't attending BU (or ANY program), please let the program know ASAP so those of us on waitlists have the opportunity to join some fantastic programs.
-
Congrats on the admit! That is so exciting I saw the BU admit and ran straight to my spam folder to check if I missed something. I guess I just play the waiting game until I get good or bad news. Until then - "No news is good news!"

Anyone claiming the Boston University Admit? If so, how/when did you find out?
