  1. CONGRATS TO ALL WHO HAVE RECENTLY RECEIVED GOOD NEWS! I hope it won't be too long before the rest of us can celebrate with you! With that said, has anyone heard back from any of these programs? UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, USC, UC Davis, Boston College, Boston University, University of Michigan, Michigan State, University of Florida, University of South Florida, University of Maryland - College Park, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee I assume not because no one has posted about them yet, but it doesn't hurt to ask. ? Here's to another week of anxious waiting.
  2. Sorry - I noticed that someone had posted potentially hearing from Ohio on the results page and just assumed that it was positive. I noticed that it's one of your schools, so I'm sorry for any anxiety it may have caused haha!
  3. So, just to double check - No one on this thread has heard anything from any of their school yet? Other than UofWash?
  4. Yeah - it's been hard to not get anxious but no news is good news!
  5. Nothing on my end. Trust me - I'll post if I hear back from any school.
  6. Hey @Theory007, They didn't say to reach out to any one on AdComms directly but to reach out to the graduate program assistant with any questions we have on admissions. Most, if not all programs, will answer general questions on their admissions procedure as every school is different. Sorry if I caused any confusion for anyone! And yeah, This is my second cycle and I am still anxious. My partner (Neuroscience Ph.D. Applicant) has already received invitations to interview at three different schools. That makes it hard to disconnect from our applications since this will define the next 5-6 years of our lives and our relationship. Not to mention that with covid, I am working from home which means my email is constantly open. ? Again, thanks for offering some feedback on how you think I should proceed. I think I will take a beat for a few more days and see what happens. At the end of the day - No news is good news!
  7. Thank you for your feedback. Everyone I've talked to about this (including professors who have served on AdComms) has given me mixed opinions on how to proceed. Its been confusing but its still nice to get feedback.
  8. I know that each year brings a new timeline but, based on last year, I feel like we would have hear by now - especially since the application was due on December 15th. At this point, I don't know if one of us should reach out to the school to see if they will be hosting interviews again this year or what. Any thoughts?
  9. Does anyone know if UCSB is doing interviews again this cycle? They said last year that they did them to help mitigate the number of applications they received and I am wondering if they will do them again this year. For context - I received my interview invitation from program admissions director on Jan 10, 2021 and interviewed on Jan 14, 2021.
  10. Hey All, Last year was crazy but I feel like this year will be a bit better. I applied to 8 programs last year and this year, I applied to 13 programs. Hopefully, this year will bring better news than the last. While I know that we are all seeming competing for spots in our respective programs (especially those of us in American Politics), I am rooting for each and every one of you during this cycle. #LetsDoThis
  11. Posted 7 hours ago For those waiting on a UCI response: Applicants will be notified by April 15, likely in February or March. Notifications are sent at different times. Best wishes, Jennifer Gerson, Ed.D. Director of Graduate Affairs School of Social Sciences _______ Never take yourself out of the game. If you are wondering about a schools admissions procedures or timelines, don't speculate based on other years. This is a very different cycle and we must treat it like that. Remember... It's not over until we have that rejection letter.

  13. It's not over until you get the rejection letter. I know it's hard to keep hope alive when you see others getting their acceptances, but don't count yourself out just yet.
  14. Lol I just remembered that I have a midterm tonight for a class I have with the Director of UCI Grad Admissions for PoliSci. Gonna be an interesting day since I still haven't heard anything from UCI.
  15. I just keep telling myself that no news is good news...
  16. Hey there - did you end up getting an interview for UCSB? Just curious to see if they were still holding interviews.
  17. Thanks for the update! Fingers crossed
  18. Congrats! Did they email you? or was it in the portal? I am hoping for a UCSB admit in AP, and I had my interview around the same time with Dr. Bimber.
