    It was an email. And no worries I got a good offer from my first choice school so I’m ok with it. They looked at my website and everything too so I’m not sure if it’s a good indication of the application process, but I think it’s a good sign that you haven’t seen anything. I don’t believe they’re doing interviews or anything yet

    I just got rejected from UF as a painting applicant. They’re really behind this year on decisions I feel like and I think each department is on a different timeline rn

    Did anyone else get an email saying they’re in the final round of applicants for FSU? I thought my interview went really poorly, but they just emailed me and invited me to their prospective student event and to congratulate me on being in the final round. The prospective mfa student event is April 1, so it feels a little late in the application season

    Thank you! I was wondering when UF was going to let people know about interviews. They gave me a super vague answer when I asked about that a while ago, so it’s nice to hear a more solid timeline

    The deadline for UF was the 15th so I think there’s still hope for everyone. They’re only a week into review

    Lol I think that’s what it was honestly. And I don’t think they’re going to have a full cohort tbh because I asked how many people would be in it and he said less than their usual number. So I’m not really sure what he means by that

    Yeah it was super weird! I thought they were giving people interview requests for FSU through email so I was a little caught off guard. And that’s true thank you! I hope so he never mentioned my art he just asked me questions about why I liked FSU essentially so I couldn’t tell

    So I just got a surprise phone interview from Florida State and I have no voice rn so I think I sounded like a 90 year old smoker in the call ?. And I was not expecting to get interviewed at 8pm on a Monday unannounced so I was a little rattled in the call I think. I don’t think the interviewer was very impressed. Hope everyone else is doing good with interviews ❤️

    Syracuse is supposedly finalizing decisions today so I’m thinking they will start contacting people soonish? I haven’t heard about them sending out interview requests or anything so I’m not sure what’s going on as far as interviews. Congrats on the interviews so far tho and good luck!

    Lol I’m not sure either. I haven’t done any interviews yet but I got a couple acceptances so I’m not sure what’s up with the schools this year. Maybe they just feel like they know you really well and don’t think an interview is necessary if you got in? I hope you get in tho!

    Has anyone heard back from FSU, UF, USF, Bard, or Syracuse yet? I got accepted to LCAD with a 10,000 a year scholarship and potential ta position. I don’t think that’s too bad for a two year program. And then MECA offered me 5,000 a year and a potential ta position. Was really hoping for a better offer from MECA so I don’t think I can attend. I’m really hoping FSU, USF, UF, Syracuse or Bard come through with some better offers. UF is fully funded and I can commute from where I’m currently living so I really hope I get in there.

    As a survivor of sexual assault who also had issues with a university in the past. I think it’s none of your business to attack them and demand personal info. Assault survivors are commonly silenced by their schools in order to maintain the school’s prestige and coming forward publicly can be damaging to your career as a young professional. And as a woman (she/they) I’m happy that someone is coming forward with this information because I don’t want to go to a school that covers up sexual misconduct. I was feeling quite crappy for not finishing my Carnegie app after getting good feedback on my portfolio last year, but I’m so glad that I didn’t apply after hearing their story. So be respectful of people coming forward and to people trying to make the right decisions about graduate school. It makes me uncomfortable that you feel the need to attack them, when we should be supporting each other on here and lifting each other up. cmusurvivor your experience and feelings are valid and thank you for sharing. I hope that you’re in a better place now and I’m sorry that you went through that. Sending you nothing but love and light

    I haven’t heard back about Syracuse either but they extended their deadline to the 15th so don’t worry too much. The priority deadline got moved to Feb. 1 from Jan. 15 too so I think it’ll be a while before we hear from them. But congrats on Dartmouth! I hope you hear back from UO and everywhere else soon!?

    Thank you and good luck to you too! I hope you get in! And thank you for telling me what they asked during the interview! I submitted it a little later than priority because I am a Florida resident so it’ll only be 5,000 a year roughly without funding so I wasn’t super concerned about their priority deadline

    That’s awesome that you got an interview! I applied to FSU too! How did the interview go? I just finished my app for FSU yesterday and I’m not sure what their timeline is for interviews/decisions

    Does anyone know when Bard sends out interview requests? I saw that I got an email from them and got really excited, but it just said my application is being reviewed and to do my FAFSA in by February 1st for scholarship consideration. Lol it bummed me out a little, because I haven't heard back from any schools about interviews. A lot of the schools I applied to though don't stop taking apps until mid-February so I think I'm anxious for no reason

    So their meme page is on Instagram and the username was just funny to me. I did a lot of print before covid, but its very hard to do lithographs or installation work without the proper setup. So my goals in grad school are to work on those pretty heavy, but I'm applying with painting everywhere, because it's my strongest work and what I get into shows with/have gallery representation for.
