  1. Good luck to everyone still waiting for decisions. Just wanted to say that I turned down an offer from Georgetown's PhD program today, so hoping good news is on the way for someone in this forum soon!

Yeah that comment is pretty strange. And given what @history202- said he heard from Yale and Harvard, those timelines (especially Yale) doesn’t really seem like they’ve sent results out yet. Did anyone in the forum claim either a Yale or Harvard acceptance? (Sorry I’ve been away a few days and haven’t been keeping tabs)

A friend of mine got an unofficial reject from Yale today, and their advisor said the list of final offers from Yale went out yesterday. And it's another friend of a friend who recently claimed the Harvard acceptance in modern European; from what I was told, I think they were notified a week or two ago.

Two rejections in one day... (and possibly more to come) have officially given up hope for this cycle! And now am even starting to feel pessimistic about my chances for the next cycle despite the fact I’ll be working on my masters... ?

I'm sorry, I know this is such a demoralizing and difficult period. Just remember it only takes one good fit, there are more to come, and there is completely no reason to rule out anything next year. Don't give up hope--you seem passionate and enthusiastic, and things will work out one way or another. I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Also waiting for this.... but thinking it will be monday/tuesday of the following week (as frustrating as the wait may be). Art history seems to always get notified ahead of history admits, and the former have not come out yet.

I think someone in the art history forum reached out to a Princeton administrator who said that results are not expected until late Feb/early March, so it might be a while longer...

Ahh okay! If anything, I think this is actually a sign that you shouldn’t worry too much. I know a few people claimed waitlists on the survey page, but I don’t think anyone here has actually claimed them? And if waitlists and presumably acceptances have been sent out, why wait another couple weeks for rejections? Waitlists on the survey page could have been trolls (political science has a real problem with people posting troll results).

Thank you! This is a really helpful way of looking at it. I was sort of going off of past years where people said the DGS or POI contacted them in advance of the GSAS, so if the DGS told me that GSAS would be in touch within two weeks I felt it might be a rejection. But I suppose there is always hope...

I don’t think hearing that from the DGS is any indication either way. The DGS may have an internal deadline for result notification or generally know the history department’s timeline.

I think it would be much more beneficial to reach out to the history department directly if you want more information because the DGS won’t know the specifics of what’s going on with each department.

Thank you! Sorry, I meant the DGS of Harvard's History department, so I guess this might confirm my suspicions.

Hi everyone! This is my first post, but this thread has been a valuable source of comfort the past couple of weeks, in addition to providing some intel. I'm wondering if anyone has any information on the University of Washington that they'd feel comfortable sharing (in addition to whoever submitted the recent acceptance, whom I've already solicited on the results page). Also waiting on Georgetown and UIC, as well as a number of other schools mentioned here.

Post-war U.S. labor history and history of capitalism, FWIW.

    Thanks – and solidarity!

also waiting on Georgetown! has anyone heard anything from admissions at all?
