  1. I sent a typical aid email (explaining expenses, etc.) and was sent a form to complete. Form said they do a limited reconsideration for Merit and at most would increase 2-5k. They don't go based on what other schools offer and don't look at financial need for the appeal. Planning to fill out the form, which also says they take up to three weeks to respond with their decision.
  2. I was also waitlisted by UIC. Hearing "maybe" is super frustrating/disappointing, especially from your dream school! From their info session last fall, I recall them saying that the waitlist is much more of a rolling basis until they fill the class (up until right before they start the fall term), so if you come off the waitlist you could very potentially hear sooner than mid-August! How I read the email is that if we choose to remain on the waitlist, we would be told a definite yes or no by mid-August.
  3. Pretty sure some on the thread have, but definitely people have posted on the results page! I reached out to the admissions dept last week and they said they are trying to make final decisions by March 15, so fingers crossed we hear soon!
  4. Thanks! I had received an email saying I had a financial aid update and checked the Wolverine Access portal. There it had the highest amount for direct unsubsidized federal loans, and then 3k in work study (so 1.5k per term). The official letter with the scholarship didn't list the federal loans or work study!
  5. Just as an FYI for others waiting on aid packages from Michigan-- I got an email to say my financial aid award status had changed in the portal, which showed me just loans and work study. About five days later I got an email with an official letter letting me know I was getting 2.5k per term (so 10k overall), and an update about the Special Program I applied for.
  6. Has anyone heard back from UIC yet? In one of their admissions Zooms they said they don't really have a timeline estimate for when people will hear back on decisions. Does anyone have any more up-to-date info from the admissions office/personal experience?
  7. Also only got offered loans, and have also heard BU doesn't give many scholarships (and the ones they give aren't as high as some other private institutions).
  8. I got the call 1/12 and then the official letter 1/28!
  9. Hey all! Has anyone admitted to WUSTL received a full, outlined financial aid package (beyond the scholarship amount listed in the acceptance letter?
  10. [Edit: @researchmswgirl meant to 'reply' to you but didn't quote the text accidentally!] Just got an email to check the portal for UChicago-- waitlisted. Accepted a spot (on the waitlist), but they don't revisit til "the end of the Admissions cycle" so I assume the earliest I could hear would be April (I also assume aid will not be great at that point?). Feeling pretty crushed right now since it was my number one choice and I had my heart set on it. Guess this just means I gotta start reimagining what my fall will look like!
  11. Have not received my financial aid package yet-- when did you get notified? Congrats on getting the 10k! I have no familiarity with UM's typical financial aid package, so I'm not sure how it might compare. Can't hurt to appeal and ask for more, right?
