  1. Same, I'm having a hard time choosing between SVA and SAIC!!! I'm a returning student - kind of a mid-career artist with a young family on the west coast, which is why I'm doing the low res programs. Would love feedback on which one might be best for my career!!
  2. I got into SVA and SAIC for the low res MFA - I'm a painter. I'm torn because of SAIC's great reputation and SVA's NYC! Finances aside, I'd love to hear a few opinions on which school might benefit me most in my career. I live on the west coast.
  3. I got into the Low-Res MFA at PNCA, SAIC & SVA. Trying to make a decision now. What about you?
  4. Hi! I got into PNCA, and several east coast schools as well. Do you know where you're going yet?
  5. Yep - makes sense ~
  6. Thank you - I think they're both good options. I live in a smaller city on the west coast now, and am unable to move for a very long time. How do you think this would impact my exhibition opportunities post-grad from either institution? Part of the reason I'm going to grad school is for the connections in general, and for showing.
  7. This is great info - thank you - I had heard that SVA is for profit. I got about a 20% tuition scholarship at SAIC. I live on the west coast, and am not able to move for a long time. Given that I'm on the west coast (in not the biggest city), does it even make a difference if I do my low res MFA in NYC or Chicago in terms of showing post-graduation? I certainly want to make those great connections, but am concerned about my actual physical location for that, frankly.
  8. This is great info - thank you. I'm accepted for the low-res program at SVA and SAIC, and I live on the west coast, and am not able to move at this point. 9. Hey - I got into SVA and SAIC low res as well - Feeling really torn between the lure of NYC and SAIC's reputation. SVA offered me 25% tuition, and SAIC less - I hope someone responds for both of our sakes now! Where do you live by the by?

    Bard MFA Q&A

Hi, I appreciate you offering up your perspective to us here. I applied as a painter for Summer 2021. Do you know what percentage of students are accepted to the program? Thanks!
  11. I really never even considered an overseas school, although I certainly would have if I'd have thought of it! The tuition differences would make that mighty appealing to me as well!
  12. I think SAIC is really expensive, although I haven't worked out the numbers yet. And I'd rather be in NYC than Chicago. That said, there is there reputation to consider. I'm just interested to see if I get in at this point. I've applied to all low res programs.
  13. I had an interview with SVA for the low res program, and then got the acceptance about a week later. No news from Bard or SAIC. Anyone heard from Bard or SAIC?
  14. No - I heard back from SVA today though. Did you hear from SAIC yet? Where are you applying?
  15. How did this all turn out for you all? I’m weighing if I should go to MassArt, SVA, Bard or SAIC - starting this summer, 2021
