  1. I do it all the time. And then 6 months later you get an email and you're like, who what huh? Ohhhhhhh.
  2. Yeah, they're twice the price of the school I got an offer from. Unless I got a lot of funding with them, I'd have to decline if they accept me. No one should be $120K in debt for grad school. Especially not an MFA.
  3. I am laughing so hard at this haha
  4. I had to ask my brother to translate it, basically what he told me, too. Also, considering I'm originally from Seattle, makes sense they'd target my 206 number. Well I don't need your very important notices, I'm too busy eating gummy bears and sending all my money to that Nigerian Prince who has a super exclusive business opportunity for me.
  5. I get those all the time! Where some automated message in Mandarin starts going? Don't toy with our emotions spam bots!
  6. If they just heard an hour ago and this is the first we've heard of it, today must be the first day of notifications. Guess we'll have to wait a few days and see if our phones ring too. I got a call from a 212 number yesterday and got really excited and it turned out to be a call about my health insurance. Womp womb.
  7. Damn that'd be a mean prank! And congratulations! They throw you any money? Give it at least 24 hours to update. That's actually one of the schools I'm waiting to hear from, guess the time has come...
  8. Mine didn't get updated immediately. Took a couple days before I got the official email about a decision on my portal. How long has it been since your call?
  9. Lol. Honestly, it just seems like a lot of sad effort to constantly get new screen names just to be an obtuse jerk.
  10. You're good, brother. I think there may have just been a misreading of your message.
  11. I personally love that my inbox filtered my Brown rejection into the spam folder, as if to say, "Well we don't need any of that nonsense. Off with you!"
  12. Good talk, buddy.
  13. We get use to hearing "no," it's part of the writer thing, getting a "yes" feels surreal. I'm right there with you. I got an email from SLC about an upcoming event for accepted applicants today and squealed like a piggy. No matter what any of your other schools say, you got one, that's all that matters. Dance and go crush that job interview!
  14. Yeah! Sit in that glory! We put a lot of work into these applications and as writers, it feels even more personal, because we're applying with pieces of our creativity which is an incredibly vulnerable place to be. Any forward movement deserves to be celebrated. Go have a dance party!
  15. Hey, you got an acceptance and that's a wonderful thing. It just takes the right person to read your work and connect to it and you found it. Congrats!
  16. Is trolling and being a douche on a forum for people just trying to talk about the process of applying to MFAs really that satisfying? Seriously, dude, who hurt you?
  17. Yeah, my last name is a C name and I got mine right as you posted they were coming.
  18. Hamlet, that angsty little cluck.. And welcome!
  19. Haven't seen "Guildenstern," either. I prefer them as a pair.
  20. Yup, just got mine lol.
  21. Too many.
  22. Ah yes.... our old grumbly friend is back.
  23. I did my undergrad there and loved it, congrats on the waitlist!
  24. Cruel and unusual punishment right there.
  25. Worth it for the snacks alone
