Thanks for reaching out to them!

Yeah, ok that part sucks pretty badly. You've got New School, though! That's pretty fantastic! And I'm really happy with Sarah Lawrence, their program looks like it'd fit be really well. Won't be mad if we get a couple more yes's though ?
-
Yeah I'm waiting on NYU and Columbia, as well. Definitely feeling like NYU would've contacted the accepted students already. And hey, I think we'd all like to say we got into Columbia, even if we don't go there. That's a MASSIVE morale boost.

That's wonderful! Congrats!

I support anyone willing to be the canary. I keep going outside and checking my mail in the off-chance there's some snail mail coming my way.
-
That's where I'm at too, just waiting for the form paper letter at this point. Hopefully this week we'll all hear from the other schools and release some of this tension. I got myself hungover today, so that's keeping me busy and distracted!
-
Yeah, seriously! I'm waiting on 4, still. I've only heard from one school.
-
Oh God, not ready for this one, either. Honestly, I thought I'd prefer a spread out acceptance/rejection, but at this point, I think I just want it over with so I can get on with my life lol.

Omg literally NO ONE needs to feel or see that. You’re making the right choice. You should just eat a regular brownie instead.

I’m not high, but I’m stoned adjacent because my roommate is high lol.
-
Who am I kidding, me too! I’m tired of being patient.

Kudos on the frying. yeah now the Brown stress is beginning. I always looked at it as a pie in the sky possibility, but I just wanna know already!!! Think they’ll wait til Monday to begin the fiction notices?

No matter what, you should be insanely proud of yourself. Applying to these programs is difficult, draining and terrifying. But you have made such insane progress from where you said you were a year ago and that’s huge! And now you can come back to it next year even more confident and with the resolve of where you know you want to be. I think that’s amazing and you’re looking at it in a really healthy way. It sucks right now, but next year you’ve friggin got this. ❤️

Thank you! money deities HEAR OUR CAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL

That is actually the magic of my existence. Like a fairy, when you yell TEQUILA, I appear from the clouds with delicious agave juice. You’ll find the funding! I’m hoping I can get the rest of my funding through TAP, a program for veterans. Already used my GI bill for undergrad, but if I go to school in NY, I might be able to get the rest through them. Fingers crossed! And then poof! We toast our MFA’s.

Haha yeah pretty much! Murray Hill is really quiet, my friend lives there. My part of Bk isn’t quiet on my street, but a few streets in much quieter. But I’m on the subway line and major bus line on Fulton so it’s just a really busy area. I might start looking closer to Harlem. If it’s just a 30 minute commute from grand central, that actually puts a lot of areas in play, but not really Bk. And hooray for real life tequila shots, buddy!
-
I live in Brooklyn now and that commute would be brutal. 90 minutes. If you find a place not on one of the busier streets, it’s super quiet and you’ll get lots done. And the parks when it’s warm are amazing to put out a blanket and break out the notebook or laptop. LES is great, I use to live there when I first moved here, but it’s not quiet basically anywhere lol. If we both end up at SLC we’ll take real life tequila shots to celebrate!
-
Congrats! That’s wonderful!!

This is actually an enormous help, thank you for all this information! The student to teacher ratio and mentoring were one of the enormous pluses during my research and I live in Bk but was trying to decide if I should just move uptown or near the school. Uptown wins! If I don’t get an offer with more funding, I feel good about SLC. Thanks!
-
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
-
You're right, which is so incredibly disappointing. If I don't get funding, I definitely am not going to go into massive debt for the MFA, no matter how badly I want to go.

Hahaha I like that description better. I have definitely had those moments with stories before. One of the stories I used for applications got some serious stitches after I began editing it. I approve of your surgery. Weirdly enough, I am currently reading “Frankenstein” for fun.
