No news for us but it seems like NSERC results are starting to trickle out! One student received a congratulations email from their awards office this morning.

I sent my department the exact wording from the SSHRC saying that we should get our results from them, and they sent me the most frustrating reply: "Thanks for this information. As much as possible, we don't release the result to students if SSHRC are not yet able to provide an official notice to all students. Per the email we received from SSHRC: The result notifications should be sent to all applicants over the next few days. A follow-up email will be sent once the results documents are uploaded. I would suggest waiting until the end of this week, if the results are not out by then we will reach out with SSHRC for best course of action. Thanks for your patience. Kind regards," How is this fair when most students already know? Ugh, this is just infuriating.

Oh my goodness... at this point can they just send us our results by email or something?? There has to be a quicker way!

I'm so glad to hear that affirming counselling has been so meaningful for you! Institutionally there is absolutely a long way to go still. I won't lie, I only made my Twitter account this week to stalk SSHRC results 😂 But I will gladly follow you!

That's amazing! My research is on the need for improved human sexuality training for counselling psychologists to enable them to better serve sexual and gender minorities and those who practice alternative relationship styles. :)) I'm queer myself and I did a lot of research into the negative experiences in mental health services that queer folks still face as I was making my case in my proposal—your research is so important! We're also in the same committee, it looks like!

100% agree with you- it wouldn't have been difficult to send a mass email just to say we're sorry and you should hear soon. What is your research on? We should be able to figure out your committee that way!

I'm in 4 as well.

What frustrates me the most is that there hasn't been any apology or even understanding on their part of the toll that this would take on the small group that's still waiting to hear. Their automatic email reply says "we invite them to be patient"; there is nothing anywhere about how the results have been missing for a week and the delay has now taken us past the latest possible date that they promised (end of April). No kind of recognition that this was an error on their end that students are now forced to deal with. Even a simple "We apologize for the delay" would have helped.

If they really are sending out at least some results every day, then someone should hear today. More likely people in committee 4. But I've been checking Twitter too, and so far it seems like no new emails have gone out.

Is anyone still waiting to hear both from their school and SSHRC? I was told by my school (UofA) that results hadn't come in yet, and it looks like SSHRC has completely stopped sending emails. Feeling pretty isolated and hopeless at this point...

I've been going through phases... I've been trying to have restraint but I have been refreshing at an admittedly embarrassing rate since yesterday. It's so hard to be in the dark when so many have already heard!

That's the last thing I've heard too... I emailed them again today and haven't received a response, but I'll update if I do. From what I've been able to tell, the extranet emails have been completely stopped for about 24 hours at this point. (I'm in committee 4, and someone in my cohort heard, so it seems like they basically stopped right before me. Yay. 🙃)

I checked in with my grad office yesterday and they said they hadn't received anything yet. So I wouldn't assume unsuccessful; it seems like some results haven't gotten out to our schools either.

I literally just said this out loud to my partner! I'm so nervous about there still not being an account attached to my email! But there's strength in numbers; the fact that there is more than one of us would suggest that it's not a mistake. What a wait though, my goodness.

It's possible. My topic is pretty firmly educational psychology so I have no idea how they grouped me, but I'm definitely somewhere in committee 4. Pretty relieved to hear I'm not the only one with no results yet though!

Have you received your official email yet @dogmom? My research is education-adjacent so I imagine we'd be on the same subcommittee, but I still haven't heard anything!

Thank you so much for the update and I'm sorry it didn't go the way you were hoping. I hope you can take some time to decompress and reward yourself for surviving such a long and disgusting process! I'm still waiting on an email, so the updates are especially appreciated.
