Oh that's strange, I didn't know they'd give a GEM funding decision before an admissions one was received. Who did you talk to about your application and hearing back? It's already April so idk why they're waiting this long, definitely nerve wracking

You might've already heard back from them by now, but I'm a current USC university fellow who will be a full fellow for next year and I just got my new contract today (about an hour ago lol). Last year I didn't get my GEM notification from USC until late March even though I was told early February. He's always backed up with emails and GEM stuff haha Unless you mean admission acceptance? I interpreted your question as hearing back from USC regarding GEM funding.

I'm a current University Fellow. I did not match with an employer last year/cycle, but my university sponsored me as a University Fellow (tuition + fees paid but no housing stipend or internship). However, it is not guaranteed that you'd be an associate/university fellow if you're not matched with an employer, as that would depend on if the specific school sponsors non-full fellows and if they're willing to sponsor you (ex. my university used to only accept full fellows but now they take non-full fellows as university fellows). Also I did my undergrad at Purdue lol. Boiler up!

Is this only for full fellows? I haven’t received anything regarding submitting a transcript (unless it was in one of those general emails a while ago)

Note that their website hasn’t been updated since Nov. 2019 which was kind of frustrating when trying to figure out info haha, it still says they only sponsor Full fellows but this year they’re doing University fellows as well

Has the GEM portal prompted you yet to send in a transcript or do you just mean when they get around to asking? So far the GEM University rep and I have signed the contract but it's missing the "GEM Executive" signature.

Yeah the employer thing is kind of weird, after an employer contacted me but then released me, I was eventually put on "Matched" again. I then got the email that I wasn't going to get an employer, but I'm still on "Matched" in the portal. So not sure what it means but at this point I've just assumed I'm not getting an employer.

Hi! No, nothing from NYU ? They offered me a $10k scholarship in my offer letter but didn't mention GEM at all. I also got a GEM offer from a different university but it hasn't changed anything in my eGEM portal haha.

Thanks! One school rep said first-wave offers would come out last week but I didn't as much else because I didn't want to seem annoying haha. Not sure if contacting the program/department would help. But I'll see if I can reach out to the other schools!

This might be a dumb question, but is it still possible to get sponsored as an Associate or University Fellow if we haven't received anything thus far? Seems like chances of being sponsored as a Full Fellow are pretty slim now, but could universities still reach out for the other two levels even if they haven't already? I still don't have anything changed in my statuses under "Offers" in the GEM portal. And now we're discouraged from reaching out to the university GEM reps if we don't already have an offer. If there's not a possibility I would rather not get my hopes up : /

Where'd you find a number to call? I first emailed when I got accepted and didn't get a reply until literally a month later hahahaha I think they're just super busy. I want to do a Masters. Have you heard anything from them via email or GEM portal?

Should've clarified haha I've been accepted to two schools (NYU w/scholarship, USC w/interview for scholarship) but nothing so far (email nor GEM portal) regarding GEM specifically ? NYU only told me they'd make decisions in March, and last weekend the USC GEM rep told me they'd make "first wave offers" (not sure if only Full, University, or both) that coming week (which is now last week :/) and I haven't received anything. At this point not sure whether reaching out again would come off as pushy/annoying or if there's even any more info I could receive other than "just wait" (at this point potentially just waiting for a rejection). And the GEM email said to not contact the GEM university reps unless we had a written offer already, which I do not so idk :/

Also got the email. Just confused on the "eligibility" criteria for becoming a(n) Associate/University Fellow including having already received an offer from a university, because wouldn't that mean you can already be an Associate or University Fellow? I haven't received anything from a school, does that mean I'm out, or are schools still making offers? I also was "held" at one point and contacted by a recruiter, was never contacted again, just "released". Good luck to you!
