  1. Yes as the comment below. Added to this previous years it has been done in batches so even as results go out it may take some time for the letter in your extranet account to populate. Last year my letter took about 24 hours after the letters started to go out to appear.
  2. You are correct. You will receive an email to login to Extranet(read not the place you submitted), and a letter will be waiting there detailing if you received the award or not.
  3. So usually the release of the results is molasses slow. I don't know how true this is but its as though someone is manually uploading each of the letters one at a time. If I remember last year they started in the afternoon and it was the next day before my results were uploaded.
  4. There isn't an official time for the PGS-D and its pretty much the same day, depending on if extranet behaves or decides to crash etc etc.
  5. This isn't the case at all Universities just FYI. The Universities are given a list of reward recipients when the emails start going out to connect to the Extranet, and as the extranet is old as hell. Sometimes there is a slight lead time that the Uni will know before the candidates, and again sometimes that can mean your boss knows before you, but it isn't a rule, so I would be cautious in saying that absolutely your boss will know before you, it is very situation specific.
  6. So previous years NSERC has been later than the other councils so I would just put it out of mind completely. It has been a bit of a shitshow other years, so don't hold your breath for Tuesday.
  7. Couple of links for people to look over: https://sciencepolicy.ca/posts/support-our-science-the-need-for-increased-graduate-students-and-post-doctoral-scholars-in-canada/ or this one:
  8. So it isn't that the supervisors get an email, but generally the department (or University) will be informed, slightly before the candidates receive their emails (although it is supposed to be embargoed until the emails go out to all the candidates but it almost never works that way and the information trickles out).
  9. Just of note you will likely be directed to email schol@nserc-crsng.gc.ca as when I called the help desk number they weren't able to help and my account needed to be regenerated. This was the error I was seeing: I would do it ASAP as it took them a bit to get back to me.
  10. Nope, I am tempted to email FGS and see if they will tell me.
  11. I just called them, thank you for leading the charge here. Apparently it is a known issue and they are looking into it but it might not be fixed until tomorrow......:(
  12. I am either chem or physics and nothing on those fronts.
  13. It didn't appear to work, I just get a broken image, but thank you!
  14. Yep I get a different screen when I connect via my phone fwiw. Although it doesn't give me any more information, just a bunch of tabs that link back into themselves.
  15. I read that they will move your committee if they think you are better suited elsewhere unfortunately. That really sucks I think the advise I was told that after you get out of the school your chances are basically a coin filp. It really depends on if the person reading your application understands and likes what you are saying. Sorry! I am sure you are a great researcher. I am awaiting what I expect to be a rejection, so I am with you!
  16. Me and my other group member.
  17. Who wants to bet it is being done by hand...... This might be a long wait everyone.
  18. Oh I am not there anymore. I am at Dalhousie now, but good luck to you all the same!
  19. Yeah mine and one of my colleagues just gives an error so you aren't alone in that.
  20. I wish and thought I would be but checking the committees that someone posted yesterday, I might be on the Physics one instead which sucks. I knew someone who I had presented after at conferences before in the Chem committee (not enough that it would be a conflict of interest) but enough that I likely would have had an advocate in her. For the Physics committee I recognise no one. So that makes me less hopeful.
  21. OH I am with you. I just keep trying to convince myself that I didn't get it, so it takes the burn out of it. I am clearly doing well at that.
  22. An aside, comparing us to the 2020 - 2021 thread it looks like we are less full of nervous energy. They peaked at 33 pages of comments where as we are only at 13. I can't imagine that we will approximately triple even after the results are out.
  23. Yeah in Chemistry at U of T they were never one to go out of their way to set your mind at ease. So I can't imagine anyone at U of T will hear early unless there is some benefit to the department itself.
  24. Yeah for us at Dal that is FGS(Faculty of Graduate Studies) and they have been fairly tight lipped with another award the Killiam, so I can't imagine them spilling the beans to us early.
