  1. Has anyone heard from Clinical Psych program at Western? Feel free to PM me if you have been contacted (and are comfortable disclosing).
  2. Has anyone heard from from Western University's clinical program or McGill's Counselling program about interviews?
  3. I also got the same thing on my CGS-M portal. I agree that it doesn't make sense. Seems like they eliminated applications from rejected applicants.
  4. Mine still says "Decision pending" - no interview. In my mind i've already considered it a delayed rejection as I'm pretty sure the POIs I listed have done their interviews.
  5. Has anyone heard from POIs at Concordia (Research and Clinical Training stream)?
  6. I haven't heard from Concordia for an interview. Seems like no one has yet. I'm assuming they will be reaching out to shortlisted applicants within the next few weeks.
  7. ^ Also received a rejection from Waterloo. Holding out some hope for my other applications ?
  8. Haven't heard from Waterloo nor York's Clinical program. One of the POIs I emailed (at York) prior to applying mentioned interview invites usually get sent out "late January".
  9. Would greatly appreciate knowing the Clinical Psychology (YorkU) POI for the interview posted on the results page. ☺️
  10. Has anyone heard from POIs at Waterloo (for MA)? Simply wondering if interview emails have already gone out. Feel free to PM if you prefer!
  11. @peachy59 Hi there! I emailed 4/5 profs I listed and got replies from 3/4. I don't think its necessarily that they don't like your profile. It could very well be that they were receiving a massive amount of emails, or that they typically don't respond. I was warned by many people that it's not uncommon to not receive a reply. But ultimately, I don't have any definitive answers for you. I wouldn't put too much weight on this, as some people get replies and aren't selected for interview later in the process. Wishing you all the best!
  12. @SoundofSilence Good luck with your interview! & thank you so much for the advice and link
  13. Can't provide an answer to your question, but I certainly hope they'll provide a virtual option. Especially with the rise of omicron cases, I would assume in-person interviews may be discouraged. I'm also a new applicant for grad programs and tbh the whole interview process is a little daunting right now. Does anyone have advice for interview prep? Any resources/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  14. I meant interview invites, but I wasn't clear lol ?. However, it's also possible to get an early flat-out rejection (though I hope no one here has this experience). I also noticed last year some applicants for the University of Waterloo's Clinical Psych program got their invites around Dec 20th, so I'm keeping my eyes out!
  15. Is anyone else somewhat excited to receive decisions about the programs they've applied to? I know its quite early, but I'm looking forward to seeing the decisions roll-in (no matter if they are rejections or emails for interview). Does anyone else feel the same way??
  16. I can relate to this feeling! I'm in the same boat. I would be interested in answers to this ? @ competitiveness, I feel the base requirements to apply give a somewhat good idea of typical applicant profiles? (e.g. above 80% average, perhaps some publications/presentations, research experience) but thats just my educated guess as I ultimately don't know haha. Wishing you all the best with you CGS-M application!!
  17. Hi all! Anyone here applying/have applied to UWaterloo's clinical psych program? I have a few burning questions I would love to discuss with current or previous applicants. Feel free to reach out via DM ?
  18. @cpsych2021 Thank you for your advice! I totally forgot about the CPA mentorship program. I'm in the process of being approved for CPA student membership and intend to apply as a mentee.
  19. @doa I honestly have no idea. I can only infer based on what I've heard and read on these forums. Many people would agree that the admission process is quite competitive, so I would think the higher your gpa the better. It's also a matter of the clinically-related and research experiences you have and even volunteer/extracurriculars. I've had profs at my home university say they've seen students with a low 80s average get admitted into Master's programs and not the 90+ average students. So it really depends, I think, on your overall application.
  20. @doa Not all universities require a minimum amount of work experience to apply, but it would likely be an asset on any application (I'm assuming). You'd have to take a good look at the universities you're interested in and see if work experience is part of their admission requirements.
  21. @Psypig Thank you so much for your advice! I definitely had not looked into the program at Western well enough. I would technically have ~7 months of relevant work/volunteer experience. If I don't get in anywhere this year, I might consider applying next year Regarding referees, I definitely have the intent of asking them sooner rather than later. Wishing you all the best with your applications this cycle! ☺️
