  2. How would you guys compare this to wearing something like jeans and a pair of rainbow sandals (assuming you aren't in some kind of medical field or something where it would obviously be inappropriate)? Would that pretty universally considered to be ok under normal class conditions (assuming you aren't given a presentation or something like that)?

  4. Thanks for the well thought out and comprehensive reply! For sure that's what I'll do. I'd go in there on the first day more or less dressed somewhat better than I usually would and then just see how things progress. Once things start to loosen up, as they invariably will, I'll go with the flow. Although, most of the universities (well...with a couple exceptions) I'm applying to are either not in urban areas/big cities or are such that I can live really close to or on campus, which should make the whole lazy dressing thing somewhat more likely to happen.
  5. Thanks. That's good to hear. Nice to know you wouldn't stand out for wearing a pair of rainbows and a sweatshirt to class
  6. Hi guys, From what you guys have seen or experienced, what's the dress code for most of these public policy schools? Do they have more of a professional vibe like a lot of the business schools nowadays, or is it more in line with the ole undergraduate standard of wearing whatever, and of course - weather allowing - the old hoodie and (rainbow) sandals combination?

  8. hey, where did you decide to go for your mpa?

  9. Also, for these programs is there a big difference between the admissions competitiveness between the MPA and MPP programs (for schools that have both)?
  10. Yes, it's another one of those threads...anyway, here are my stats: 1530 GRE (780 Verbal, 750 Math) 3.43 UGPA (International Business Administration) Of my three LOR's, I'm shooting for all three of them to be from professors, but I'm pretty sure I can get at least two from them and one professional reference. Five years of work experience (3 years post-graduate) Speak German and Russian (if that matters) I'm considering applying to the following programs and I'd just like to know what you guys think my chances are in general terms: Princeton WWS MPP Harvard Kennedy MPP Duke Sanford MPP Brown Taubman MPP University of Texas MPA Chicago Harris MPP UCLA MPP In case it matters, it's ultimately my goal to work for the federal government.
