  1. That would be helpful, thank you.
  2. Hi, just butting in here, but I would like to ask if what's the GRE score needed to have a shot at acceptance? I'm a prospective student by 2024 (I know pretty far ahead), and I'm from the Philippines. My dream program is the HGSE PhD (HDLT concentration). Currently, I am a Special Education teacher alongside my MA Dev Psych here in my home country. Do you guys think that the concentration Human Development, Learning and Teaching is a pretty good option considering my background? Thank you.
  3. Hello, I may have posted this on the wrong section of the forum. I am an international prospective student studying my PhD in NA ( USA or in Canada), and I would like to know visa applications, types of visas, and a pathway for a PhD student to fully immigrate and settle after finishing the program. I'm from SE Asia, so any resources will help. Thank you, always stay safe and wear your masks!
  4. Hello, as per the question: I am an international prospective student for either Developmental or Educational Psychology (and either relative fields), and besides for the Psych Grad Wiki, I would like to know if there's a database for US students that lists down universities by states that offers the programs in those fields? Thank you!
  5. Yes, I will be coming on the US as an international student. Thanks for that reminder to always consider visas and other legal issues.
  6. Thanks for the reply, I'm not really sure about the lab assistant part, either. What I was thinking is I could find a job in a laboratory related to Dev Psych and related fields that will allow me to boost my profile before I apply to a PhD program. In my home country, we really don't have anything like this, so I have no idea what the term is. Yes, my end goal is to work full time on a research lab (pure research and possibly a job in the academia), and also to earn a PhD.
  7. Thank you for your response! May I know if you have some resources for universities with Educational Psychology and related fields (PhD)? And does the education field in the US have research labs as well?
  8. Good day fellow graduate school pals! This will be a lengthy one and lots and lots of questions, strap in! I am on a crossroad when it comes to the future of what I want with my grad school studies. I am a Special Education teacher from the SE Asia, and I'm currently taking up MA Developmental Psychology here in my home country. My experience is more based on the classroom, yet I personally feel that I won't be an educator forever, due to so many circumstances (pre-service teaching nightmares, CoVid, personal issues and what not) and I'm gearing towards Psychology, and I feel I am more comfortable in the field. I don't like administration too much. And now the problem is, applying to US PhD programs. My CV will say that I work in the classroom, and can that affect my chances on having a PhD there that is not directly related to education? The thought reeling in my head is two pathways: Use my bachelor's work experience: Bachelor's: Special Education (Elem) -> Master of Arts: Developmental Psych -> Ed.D (in Educational Psychology???) Drop it all and find relative work related to Developmental Psychology being a lab assistant or something. In line to pathway 2, where can I have an idea of openings for lab assistants for Psychology graduates with a MA degree as a qualification? I worry most labs would want a PhD fellow to be with their labs. (This was posted on the Education forum too) Whew, if you read up until this point, Thank you, will be eagerly awaiting your responses.
  9. Good day fellow educators! This will be a lengthy one and lots and lots of questions, strap in! I am on a crossroad when it comes to the future of what I want with my grad school studies. Drop it all and find relative work related to Developmental Psychology being a lab assistant or something. In line to pathway 1, the only grad school I know is HGSE (Surprise, surprise!) that offers financial assistance? And a list of schools with good Ed.D? I also want to be an academic researcher too, and cognitive and adolescent development are my main areas of interests, as well as those aspects in the classroom and to our Special Ed students themselves. (This will also be posted on the Psych forums here) Whew, if you read up until this point, Thank you, will be eagerly awaiting your responses.
  10. It was really shocking that application is like right now! I feel so overwhelmed with a lot of universities in the USA!
  11. Good day! I am on my last stretches of my MA Developmental Psychology in my home country, and I would like to know if there are universities in the US who offer a PhD in Developmental Psych or Cognitive Studies who offer, as stated above, fully funded for its students. Thanks and have a good day!
