Add me to the UNC BSSP rejection club.
I didn’t have a lot of hope on this because I’m international, and they had already sent out a lot of invites.
Same goes for UPenn CAMB+1
I was expecting this too.

are applications reviewed based on the order they are received? If people apply very close to the deadline is it possible that their apps won't even get reviewed?
No. I saw people who submitted close to deadline (Dec 1) receive interview invites quite soon, around Dec 10

I applied on December 31st.
Good luck! Hope you receive a positive reply soon!!

University of Nebraska Medical Center is still accepting apps until Feb 1st, i think. Their program coordinator is super helpful and offers appointments for questions via zoom. I applied there and am waiting to hear back. They do two rounds of interview invites - one after the Jan 1 deadline and one after the Feb 1st final deadline.
Hey! When did you apply? I applied on Jan 3 and they said my application is scheduled to be reviewed in the first week of Feb. Yes. The coordinator is very helpful!

Hey, have they ever got back to you with a response?
I got an email today morning saying the applications are under review. Please check status in application status page. But it seems to be a generic email.

Waitlisted by BU PiBS as well, wonder if they did this to all the applicants except for those who got interview invites...
Seems so. Everyone got the same email. Me too. Very weak chances of getting called back. #ByeBU

I emailed the directors of both programs, and they both said they're still reviewing apps! BU PiBS said more invitations will be sent out "most likely sometime this week."
Thanks! Fingers crossed.

Does anyone have info on BU PiBS or Tufts CMDB program? I'm still waiting on results
Nope. No hope on BU.

Has anybody heard from Hopkins CMM or XDbio? Weird that I do not see any datapoint at all.
40 minutes ago, Nata20 said:Never heard from Hopkins CMM yet... I assume they all received tons of applications this year since the process has been delayed for many programs
Someone mentioned in Reddit that they received CMM invite in mid of december. Also the interview is in next week. I lost hope on that

Thank you for your reply. I was also thinking that it was too early for them to have sent an invite since their application was not due until Dec 8th, but you never know. I just emailed them too, so if I hear anything I will post it here.
Wishing you lots of interviews and acceptances!
Good luck to you too!

Hi all,
Hope everyone is well. New here. I have been lurking for some time, and wanted to ask. Has anyone heard from JHU CMM? I saw a post on Reddit from someone saying that they received an interview invite from JHU CMM on December 16th, and was wondering if anyone here who applied to JHU CMM has also received an interview.
Nope. Still waiting. Emailed a couple of times but to no response. It is unlikely that they sent interviews earlier than dec 20. But not sure though. Usually they send it just before holidays.

I applied to the following neuroscience / biomedical sciences phd programs:

So far, I have interview invites from UNC, Wake Forest, and UF. I haven't had any rejections thus far. Cautiously optimistic and looking forward to seeing what happens. I got UNC's invite on 12/17, Wake's on 12/20, and UF's on 12/21.
Has anyone heard anything about Scripps, Duke, or UMN?
Hey! When did you apply to UNMC and which program?

Hey! Is it IGPBS in UNMC? Did you hear back from them?

Vandy IGP applications that were submitted are still under review! They review applications in the order they were received in small batches. I talked to someone who applied on the due date last cycle and they heard back in late January/early Feb I believe.
That's convincing and upsetting at the same time ?
-
Did anyone email JHU CMM and get any response?
-
Any program has applications still open - like having deadlines in Feb / March? I saw Univ of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) IGPBS open till March-April.

Here's some more info for you and everyone waiting on Vandy IGP: I work at Vanderbilt and have gotten some info from some IGP graduate students. The committee meets every Tuesday and evaluates small batches of applications each week, so I'd assume interview invites are sent out on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Do not worry if you haven't heard anything!!!!!! I would guess they go through the applications in the order they were received but I'm not really sure about that. But the invites will definitely keep getting sent out gradually, I'd guess even into February. Hope this helps ease some stress:)
Thank you so much! Appreciate it!

Nothing for me from CMM
I emailed JHU two days back asking about the status but got no reply. I saw in the results that they have started sending invites for BCMB Program. So hoping for some updates from CMM soon.

Would you be able to tell me when you got your Vanderbilt and Emory invites? Congrats by the way!
Vandy gave a set invites last week wednesday (15th). The invites from Vandy come in waves - each week a few invites from Dec to Jan

Anyone heard from JHU CMM or Vandy IGP? Vandy gave a few invites last week and disappeared!

I am looking forward to hearing from them then. I got into BU for undergrad but chose to go to UCSD (biggest mistake of my entire life). I hope I would get into BU for my PhD. See you there!
Hopefully!
Do you know by any chance how many students PiBS admits each year? There are a lot of professors in PiBS advising.

I received the same email. Is this a good sign since they did not just reject us and took the time to email and notify about the delay?
Yes!

Just noticed that I am the top poster in this group! So, why not one last rant?
Max anxiety with depression for the last few months. Applied to just 5 good univs and my SOP was focused on my current research and was directly related to POIs (Was really stubborn to pursue what I am doing now). (Un)fortunately, got rejected from all. Realized a few things now which I hadn't known before applying - For Int'l students it is quite challenging to get into (despite 3 great LORs); Should not have restricted/narrowed down myself to just one super-specific field. Anyway, having said all these, still not sure what else led to my rejection. Thought about it for almost a month, every day and minute. Maybe my SOP, maybe my UG GPA (3.2; thought my MS GPA and research at Harvard would compensate). Maybe its everything together. But, who knows?
After a lot of confusion and lot more of vodka, finally made peace with it all. Not gonna apply in 2022-23 cycle. Nope. Thankfully, my research experience paid off - ended up getting multiple good positions in leading therapeutic companies. It came as a blessing in disguise. During one of my job interviews, a scientist said "PhD will wait, you still have plenty of time" - and it kinda made sense. Gonna kick off a new life. Maybe this will open up new avenues or help me find a new field of interest. Everything happens for a reason.
For those who got into their dream ambitious univs or got settled with the backup safe univs - Congrats! and I am happy for you! Wish you great luck! Hope we meet and discuss science in the future!
For those who did not get into any - Cry for a month or so and shrug it off with a smile cos there is a reason behind everything. Hope you lead a great life!
Signing off ~~
