  1. Me too! I am so ready for this wait to be over!!!!!
  2. Looks like they announced maintenance on FastLane: "Due to maintenance, the following functions will be unavailable from 8:00 PM ET on 3/22 – 8:00 AM ET on 3/23: Research.gov No Cost Extension and PI Transfer N & Rs and Individual Banking. The following systems will also be unavailable from 10:00 PM ET on 3/22 – 8:00 AM ET on 3/23: Research.gov (including access to FastLane Proposal Review and Panelist Functions), FastLane Travel & Reimbursement, Graduate Research Fellowship Program, and NSF Public Access Repository (NSF-PAR). We apologize for any inconvenience. " What do we think this means? Results soon?
  3. I had emailed them a week or two ago to ask why my date (12/1/2023) hadn't moved yet (it still has not changed). This is what they said "We are still reviewing the applications; you can expect to receive your status tentatively around April/May." So I wouldn't bank on hearing anything by the end of March...
  4. My guess is that it’s this. My friend and I both applied for Materials Science and Engineering and neither of us have received any updates.
  5. I haven't gotten any update since 12/1/2023... Still holding out that those updates mentioned were just people getting assigned to reviewers and hopefully mine will be updated soon. Really hope they don't just do desk rejections...
  6. I am pretty sure reviews are probably just starting or haven’t even started yet. On the panelist tab it says: Panelist review approximately 20 applications via the DoD NDSEG FM Web Application in late January to early February. The application consists of the basic application-contact information along with a 3-page proposal, a 1-page personal statement, 3 references, transcripts, and GRE scores. My guess would be the December updates were after checking all the PII requirements.
  7. I wouldn’t bank on anything from last years thread being a useful or accurate timeline. They have switched back to a different system they haven’t used in the past two application cycles. The email I got after I submitted my app said they will release results on March 31, 2024.
  8. I did SMART as an undergrad. I wouldn’t recommend it for a PhD… google SMART scholarship forum and you’ll find a lot of info about people’s experiences.
  9. Anyone hear back from emailing NDSEG? I saw NSF GRFP came out today. Good luck to all those who applied 🥰
  10. I think we will probably hear by the end of next week! Results were all out by the 31st last year. I think I got my rejection on April 1 but it came late.
  11. Just got the update that I moved onto the second round today.
