Usually yes but last year it didn’t come until like a week after results were out
-
they have never sent feedback in previous years
-
For people who have a status update, did the last updated date change? Mine says not selected but the date is still 3/26
-
Mine says not selected too
-
I think (I hope) it's gonna be today or Friday
-
I emailed in the second week of March and they said "Late March to Early April"
-
Guessing nobody heard anything today?
-
I’m running out of hope that it’s coming today 😭
-
My research only fit well with the AFRL BAA. Also the application says you can only pick one but then has "applies to multiple agencies" which has always confused me.
-
I’m in my second year of my PhD. This is the 3rd time I’ve applied for NDSEG lol
-
I received a 3/26 update today. AFOSR Materials
-
Only a handful of people have had many updates. For me, I have the 3/18 update still and I had no other updates in March (I have been checking every day).
-
Yeah I have been thinking this was strange, could be selection bias though. 150-200 people get awards every year and 20 people have posted that they got March updates. If we assume everyone who gets march updates gets selected that is 10 - 13% of the awards going to people posting here. This is assuming everyone who gets a March update gets selected.

Hoping for Wednesday. I am tired of waiting 😭 maybe someone should volunteer as tribute and call the NDSEG office and ask. I emailed last week and they said “Late March - Early April” but maybe we could get an actual date with a phone call
-
I went through some of the old forums and gathered up all of the dates and the award status, and I added the info from this years forum too: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jf03CCUcmJlMTYI1or4oosnsb9PS1GBZelkww2snsVE/edit?usp=sharing

When do folks think results will come out?
-
I applied for AFRL and received the 3/18 update
-
I also got the 3/18 update today. AFRL/ Material Science People think it's good b/c last year the march update was a good sign, but who really knows. There is a lost from last years thread with a google doc with lists of updates.
-
I have 1/31 AFRL materials science
-
I find it unlikely anything under DOD will have any issues. But I am not a psychic.
-
Me too! I am so ready for this wait to be over!!!!!
-
It's gone now!

Looks like they announced maintenance on FastLane: "Due to maintenance, the following functions will be unavailable from 8:00 PM ET on 3/22 – 8:00 AM ET on 3/23: Research.gov No Cost Extension and PI Transfer N & Rs and Individual Banking. The following systems will also be unavailable from 10:00 PM ET on 3/22 – 8:00 AM ET on 3/23: Research.gov (including access to FastLane Proposal Review and Panelist Functions), FastLane Travel & Reimbursement, Graduate Research Fellowship Program, and NSF Public Access Repository (NSF-PAR). We apologize for any inconvenience. " What do we think this means? Results soon?

I had emailed them a week or two ago to ask why my date (12/1/2023) hadn't moved yet (it still has not changed). This is what they said "We are still reviewing the applications; you can expect to receive your status tentatively around April/May." So I wouldn't bank on hearing anything by the end of March...

My guess is that it’s this. My friend and I both applied for Materials Science and Engineering and neither of us have received any updates.
