I am interested in helping animals and helping people to understand animals.

I am interested in doing research to improve the interactions of academic with their students. Sensitivity training is highly lacking in the post-secondary education system and unequal access to education is an intolerable offense. THIS INCLUDES YOU GRADUATE STUDENTS! Don't try to give advice about something you have no experience with. The involved and draining process of utilizing "Policies and Procedures" (P&P's) on ANY campus is WAY MORE DRAINING THAN GOING TO COURT and way more corrupt than you can ever imagine. I am secretly interested in ending the bigotry of staff and faculty in higher education and hope to someday do research to understand why ignorance is encouraged and to understand why disabilities are not an under-represented group that people include when they say they take on under-represented students.

UNTIL YOU'VE WALKED IN MY SHOES DON'T JUDGE
I have a personal story and I am passionate about helping people to be successful without being ignorantly subjected to educational bigotry.

I NOW know how to apply to graduate school and its a shame it has to involve so much ass kissing. Your personal story is SUPPOSE to represent your ability to stick with it and not drop out of a program when confronted with challenges. INSTEAD, its reeeally about persuasively listing your bragging rights on paper to tell everyone why you're the best person on the planet.

I'm seriously thinking I need to write a book. No one has the inside perspective and come out on top to tell the story to achieve their goals.

GradCafe: My secret outlet of THE UGLY TRUTH about higher education.

I have masters degree now. However, when I applied, I did my own little experiment with the admissions process.
Method: Half the personal statements completely omit any existence of a disability. The other half of the personal statements portrayed the challenges I have overcome despite having a disability.
RESULTS: All schools that were told of my disability gave me IMMEDIATE REJECTION. ALL schools that were not informed of my demographic under-represented group affiliation DID ACCEPT ME.

I hope this helps anyone reading this.

P.S. If ETS gives you problems find an attorney or legal office to fax your documents with a law firms cover page.

I am now applying to PhD programs and applying the deception I have had to uncover about the admissions process.

  1. Opinions are like dignity and respect, we are each entitled to have them. What opinions are NOT, are something u shove onto other people telling them how to be how to think. Opinions are NOT something u give when they were not asked for. Opinions ARE something to keep to yourself when preemptively jumping to SPECULATORY conclusions about people u don't know. Like an advice happy wanna be know it all should not tell someone how they are when no one asked what they think. DONT JUDGE PEOPLE...
