  1. Yea UCSD BISB interview is Jan 21. I heard they only have enough funding to support 2 internationals this year (not super sure about this but that's what I heard).
  2. Hi, I am an international student. Undergrad in one of the UCs. 2 yr work/research experience in academia. Just thinking about sharing some programs I applied and the information I've gathered here. UCSC BMEB: Interview UCSF Biomedical Informatics: Rejected MIT CSB: Rejected MIT MEMP: Rejected UCLA Bioinformatics: Rejected Harvard BIG: basically rejected, someone emailed them, and they replied saying they sent out all interviews already (from gradcafe) Stanford Biomedical Informatics: no answer, but someone else heard back days ago (from gradcafe) USC QCB: no answer, but someone else heard back days ago (from gradcafe) UCSD CS: no answer, but someone else heard back days ago (from gradcafe) UCSD Bioinformatics: no answer, but someone else heard back days ago (from gradcafe) UC Berkeley Computational Biology: no answer Yea at this point, I'm accepting the fact that UCSC is the one interview I'll get this admission round. Losing hope already, but glad I still have one interview lol. And congrats to those who got interviews from other programs I applied !!!!!!!
  3. I don't think Berkeley is out yet. I haven't discovered a single person posting their status. I haven't received anything from Berkeley and USC as well. There is still HOPE!!!
  4. sadly I got rejected. Email: Thank you for your application to the MIT Computational & Systems Biology Ph.D. Program. As a small interdepartmental program that admits 8-10 students a year, we have had a record number of 400 applications from highly qualified applicants this year like yourself. We regret that we are unable to offer you a place in our program at this time. We greatly appreciate your interest in our program and we wish you the best of luck in pursuing your education. Please note that we are unable to provide you with individual feedback on your application as the committee reviews of your application are confidential. Thank you for your time.
  5. I go this email: Dear Applicant, Thank you for applying to UCLA’s PhD Bioinformatics IDP Program. At this time, all interview invitations have been sent out. If you have not received one, then you have been placed on our waitlist until further notice. If a future interview is given to you, then you will receive an email, otherwise a deny of admissions from UCLA Graduate Division. Please keep an eye out on your email or continue to check your status on the UCLA Graduate Admissions Website. Best to you, Bioinformatics IDP Student Affairs Officer It's the exact same generic email that I got 2 yrs ago (I applied 2 yrs ago and got rejected) bummer
  6. I think but am not sure that UCLA genetics track came out, but not yet for other tracks. I applied for bioinformatics as well at UCLA and UCSD and haven't heard back yet. Let's give it a bit more time! and wish you the best luck!!!
  7. ? my list is still dead silent since mid Dec. I've been very anxious since Dec last year. I guess I'm definitely out of luck on Stanford BMI. Also saw ppl got interviews from UCLA and UCSD before the break. I guess I'm running out of luck on those two too. But still glad that at least I got one interview. Congrats everyone who got interviews from their dream programs!!! However, those who's on the same boat with me, let's don't get our hopes down! There's still a whole month (or maybe more than that) to go!!!! Hope we all can get something in the next 30 days!!! ?
  8. I haven't received any notification from them yet, but my hope for Stanford is low lol super limited seats + we are international : /
  9. thanks! You going to UCSC interview in person? Yea Guess I'll see you there lol
