  1. Same 🙃
  2. I'm down 🤣🤭
  3. Quick question: I recently received a FLAS Summer fellowship this month, is it worth adding to my honors and awards section this late into the app?
  4. I also applied for the predoc! Technically next year is the last year, but they will also be giving less fellowships next year. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2022/09/20/ford-foundation-end-diverse-fellowship-program
  5. Have y'all heard back from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign? They typically send the 1st round of admissions within this week. I applied to their Hispanic linguistic program since it's one of the best.
  6. Hey, @GRADSPN1 Yes, the CUNY Grad Center! Oh well, I haven't heard back from them. I applied to the linguistics track. But I've been admitted to 8 other programs and waitlisted in 1. I'm just waiting for the grad center. How did you hear back from them?
  7. Has anyone heard back from the graduate center in NY?
  8. Have y'all heard back from the The Graduate Center at NY?
  9. @vallejeando I have not heard from UCLA either, but I applied under the linguistics track.
  10. Did anyone here apply to PhDs in Hispanic Linguistics?
  11. Yooo! I was accepted top Ohio State January 13th via email, and to Wisconsin-Madison on the 19th via email! This is for Hispanic Linguistics programs!
  12. @MillerS I'm doing great, I'm waiting to hear for 9 schools haha. To some extent it matters, but it's not the end all be all. I would argue that your fit matters more. I have heard that in some institutions, it is a requirement that is set forth by the university, and not the department. Another test that measures proficiency in SLA, is the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview. It's basically speaking to a register interviewer for 30 minutes. But it does cost between 100 to 200, I can't remember exactly how much. What do you mean preview day? Like a visitation day for accepted students? (VDFAC) I spoke with a student from Georgetown Uni today, and they say said they have their VDFAC in February.
  13. Angela Merkel: I'm aware, I'm just putting out there ?. Hasta no ver no creer.
  14. I received an email from the DGS at Ohio State yesterday: "Dear applicants, Thank you for submitting your application to one of the PhD programs. We are in the process of reviewing all the materials and will be making our first round of decisions within the next two weeks. I will get back in touch with you when I have more specifics about the status of your application. In the meantime, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!" Hopefully we get in!
