  1. Rutgers sounds like a stellar program! I didn't really hear about them until after application deadlines. I also doubt I'll wait to hear from UIC or Indiana before i confirm elsewhere. UIC isn't the best match for me, and Indiana is a great program for Global Health, but so expensive compared to my other options now. Side note: I also have a little human - he's 3.5 years old, and I am both terrified and excited at the thought of juggling a DrPH program, work and raising him. God speed to the both of us . Maybe this topic deserves it's own dedicated post, lol.
  2. You are so right! You clearly have a stellar CV and experience. I think it's unfortunate they clearly have some kind of screening in place since they don't interview most applicants. I understand that some tracks just don't accept as many students, and they want to round out their cohorts with different types. This was just yet another crappy year to apply it seems - going into the third year of the pandemic, crazy inflation, etc. that has resulted in yet another record breaking year in sheer number of applicants. I hope you get accepted into another stellar program this year, or consider applying next year! It's clear you are already a real public health leader. You deserve the credentials to match .
  3. Hope you get off the waitlist and accepted soon!
  4. Joining the JHU DrPH rejection club (Global Health: Policy & Evaluation track). Not gonna lie, this one stings. I thought my application was quite strong. Oh well, waiting to hear from Columbia's Global Health & Humanitarian Systems program before I call an end to this crazy application cycle! Anyone else interview with Columbia DrPH and hear back yet? It sounds like this track in particular doesn't even admit students every cycle and only admits a small number, so trying not to get my hopes up... Program update: Accepted: Boston University (50% tuition scholarship), Georgia State University Waiting: Columbia University (interviewed), Indiana University (invited for interview in next 2 weeks), UIC (no interview, expecting rejection since they are mainly a domestic program) Rejected: Johns Hopkins, Harvard, UNC, Emory (PhD in Global Health)
  5. I also got the same email regarding completion of first review and start of an interview process. Best of luck to you on your interview!
  6. Apparently I spoke too soon. I just got two emails at around 5:30pm today - acceptances to Boston University (with a 50% tuition scholarship) and Georgia State University DrPH programs. Extremely grateful for these as I await the final decisions for my last few DrPH programs: accepted: Boston University & Georgia State University (interviewed at both) waiting: Columbia (interviewed), Johns Hopkins, Indiana University, UIC rejected (no interviews): Harvard, UNC, Emory PhD in Global Health I hope you all hear good news soon. This waiting game has been brutal.
  7. Welp, it's feeling like another frustratingly quiet week for most of us DrPH applicants. Let's hope next week is the big decision week for most programs! Congrats to all who have received acceptances this week! I hope you get to celebrate this weekend!
  8. I can't help from personal experience. But have you tried searching the results page to see if there were acceptance entries from previous years? https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/ - you can filter your school, program and degree. Good luck! I hope you hear soon.
  9. I'm sorry to hear about your rejection, but keeping my fingers crossed you hear good news soon! I'd love to be put out of my misery one way or the other with these applications...
  10. Looks like someone posted a rejection to Boston University's DrPH program on the results page. Has anyone else heard? It's been radio silence since I interviewed last week of January, but I think they finished their interviews last week.
  11. I applied to Indiana as well and haven't heard back. I haven't reached out to them for an update, but thank you for sharing!
  12. Thanks for the info! Hope we hear good news soon.
  13. Good luck to you! Did you interview at Indiana? I can't seem to find information on their process.
  14. Thank you for the kind words, @gipa! You are so right.
  15. Joining the UNC rejection club as well... I know I should be happy with the three interviews I did receive, but this stings. It looks like interviews for UIC are going out, not sure if all interview invites have been sent. I doubt I'll get an interview there, their program doesn't really have a global focus. Rejections: UNC, Harvard (silent rejection) Interviews: Columbia, Boston University, Georgia State University Waiting: Johns Hopkins, UIC, Indiana University
  16. I feel the same! I debated between epi and global health & humanitarian systems tracks, and I ended up going with global health since most of my work is in surveillance systems enhancement and capacity building. Hopefully we'll hear back this month. The waiting game is the WORST.
  17. Congrats on the interview! I hope it went well. I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and heard the same timeline. Which track did you interview for? Wishing us both luck! Who knows, maybe we'll be in the same cohort (fingers crossed).
  18. Columbia interviews this month and plans to send out acceptances by the end of the month or early March, at least that's what the Global Health & Humanitarian Systems track folks said in my interview last month.
  19. Just wanted to congrats all who received acceptance this week! And keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of us to hear some good news next week .
  20. I'm sure the person didn't mean it that way. But I agree that it's bogus that these DrPH programs are so expensive, yet still have acceptance rates of way less than 10% on average. You'd think since most of these Public Health Schools make their money off MPH students, they'd at least offer more tuition scholarships and waivers, or open up more spots in these part-time programs. Oh well, hopefully we'll see the programs grow with the public health need in the coming years.
  21. Thank you so much! Congratulations on your interview and best of luck!
  22. I see someone just uploaded on the results page that they received an interview for UIC DrPH. UIC and UNC DrPH folks who got interviews: do you know what dates they plan to interview until?
  23. BU does interview for their DrPH. I interviewed a couple of weeks ago. When they sent the link to pick a time/date, it looked like they had interview openings until February 11th.
  24. I also applied to UNC and JHU. I was just about to ask anyone if they knew of UNC's timeline. Late March/April seems so late! Someone else mentioned that JHU decisions also likely won't come until end of March. I interviewed with BU and Columbia, and they said decisions should be made by end of Feb/early March. And Georgia State interviews in a couple of weeks, but I think decisions will still be made late Fed/early March as well. Hopefully all programs give the students the same deadline to accept!
