It looks like a bunch of Epidemiology PhD rejections for Emory University went out today according to this site's results page. Has anyone heard from their PhD in Global Health & Development? It's the only School of Public Health PhD program I don't see an update for on the results page. I assume they are on a similar timeline and my rejection is forthcoming...

I can't speak to the academic route, but I can speak to U.S. government civil service positions in public in agencies like NIH and CDC. I've worked at CDC for 10 years and have an MPH, and I'm currently applying to DrPH programs to qualify for higher level positions, particularly ones based abroad. They follow the GS pay scale (https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/2022/general-schedule/). An entry level fellowship or job for someone with a masters will usually be a GS-9, and an entry level for someone with a PhD will be a GS-11. For climbing the ladder, the highest level scientific or leadership positions are a GS-15 and will require a PhD or MD, as will many GS-14 epidemiologist/health scientist positions. Hope this helps.

I just received an email to interview with Columbia for their DrPH program. I thought folks would have heard back from Emory's Global Health & Development PhD program and Harvard's DrPH program for invites by now... This waiting game is so brutal. I just received an interview request for Boston University's DrPH program. Based on their automated scheduling link it looks like there are interview slots open through February 11th. Not sure if that is just for first rounds (or if there even are second rounds). Anyone from last year's cycle checking this forum that had an interview with BU? Any tips on the interview process? What types of questions did they ask? And how soon after the interview did you hear back? Best of luck to everyone. Keeping my fingers crossed for more interviews and at least one acceptance!

Based on last year’s forum, it looks like first round of interview requests for Harvard and Boston University DrPH programs went out this week last year. I applied to JHU, UNC, George State University, Harvard, Columbia, UIC, Indiana, and Boston University DrPH. I haven’t heard back yet.
