Claiming an IU Bloomington acceptance (comparative politics)! Given the funding, faculty fit, etc. I most possibly won’t attend so I will decline the offer soon after some thoughts

I applied to 2 programs in Canada and haven't heard anything from them (though tbh I most possibly will study in the U.S. because of funding, location, faculty, etc). According to my professor, they will release results a month after the U.S. universities. Also, congrats to all of you who received good news today!

Claiming a waitlist from UT-Austin after an interview almost 2 weeks ago. This is not what I expected, but it's still better than a rejection. In the email they say that they will make decisions about the waitlist in late March/early April, so we'll see.

Just received an email telling me that I was admitted to GWU (comparative politics)! This is my second cycle (got waitlisted by 2 programs last year) so I am beyond happy. I think the reason why GWU's cohort size doesn't seem to change much is that they didn't accept applications last year, though I can be wrong. Anyway, hope you guys receive some good news soon!

I think it's good news. It means that they're looking into your application and considering it seriously. Otherwise, why would they bother to ask for your original transcripts? Also, I was interviewed by my potential faculty advisor, so maybe different professors set different timelines. Good luck!

It says on their website that they "consider a broad set of factors in making admissions decisions." Hey guys, hope you're having a fantastic morning/night. I was interviewed by UT-Austin last Friday and received an email from Notre Dame about their timeline: they should finalize their shortlist and send out virtual tour invitations by next week. Regarding my interview, I don't know if it's later for other fields (my first field is comparative politics). All I know is that UT-Austin says on their website that they'll send out offers next month (https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/government/graduate/Admissions/Concluding-Notes.php). Hope this helps.
