Heyyy friend~ I feel you... the pain of waiting and getting rejections is so excruciating ? But never give up the hope!!! I think NYU has already sent out a round of acceptance (i got the waitlist email). I seriously have no idea what is going on with BU... emailed program director for updates last week but haven't heard back from him yet...

Just got accepted to UIC DHD Disability Studies PhD program! Now I gotta figure out if my interdisciplinary research focus would be better served with a disability emphasis or SW emphasis.

For me, 7 rejections so far (WUSTL, UChicago, UT, UW-Seattle, UMich, Columbia, UC Berkeley & 3 pending (UNC, Boston U, NYU)
Never had any interview at all. I've beenworking as a medical social worker at a small nonprofit clinic since getting my MSSW at UT in 2020; have 4 co-authored publications (all qualitative research); no TA or RA experience
Congrats to those who got acceptances! I hope everyone gets accepted to their top choice program if still waiting for results!

@beloved_child_of_God I applied to that track, too. I haven’t heard anything, but the program coordinator told me acceptances will come over the phone in the last week of February. Maybe I still have a chance? I hope you find your fit somewhere!

Received acceptance via email to WUSTL Social Work (interview invite 1/14, interviewed 1/26-27). Annual stipend $30k (12 month basis) for 4 years.

Columbia doesn't do interviews. Last year decisions were released mid Feb. Also many people would turn down Columbia's offers (their stipend level is horrible compared to cost of living in NYC) so they might send out another rounds of admissions after that.

Just spoke with one of my profs at BC about their process a little bit. (I did not receive an interview invite.) This prof used to serve on the ad comm in years past. He said essentially that BC offers invites for interviews in only 2 scenarios. The first scenario involves international graduate students for whom POIs or the ad comm might want to test English language proficiency. The second scenario involves any student, whether international or domestic, who might be competing with another student for a spot with a certain POI. That POI might want to interview one or both of those students to see who they might want to recommend to the ad comm for admission. I hope this is helpful for any/all BC applicants.
