  1. Red rabbit I’m so curious as to why the Pratt thing is funny, or what it is, are we missing something? Please do tell us! — edit . Oh it was the letter. ??‍♀️
  2. Don’t be sorry Red Rabbit, it’s ok! This forum has really helped me learn a lot and is so supportive in these crazy anxious times. (I got a straight rejection from Yale too, a few of us did - but that’s a scar a lot of people deal with, don’t feel too bad about it..) Getting an interview with RISD is amazing, and brings you so close to getting in, don’t downplay it you should totally be proud and celebrate it. I’m sure you did very well - I don’t think they interview many people so definitely give yourself a pat on the back and keep that confidence up for SAIC. ???
  3. Hi Red Rabbit. I know it’s funny so many people mentioned how the RISD invites were going to their promotions or spam folders ?? I have kept checking them neurotically. I think it’s a nope from them, it’s ok I was expecting that. How did your interview go? Congratulations! What programs are you applying in? I know a few people on here had SAIC interviews maybe you can check earlier posts.. just a page back or two or three.. forums are exploding I can’t keep up.
  4. AlyPet hang in there - Pratt is still reviewing and will be reaching out to applicants this second half of the month. I haven’t heard from RISD either but I think that means no interviews if no news by now.
  5. Hey. I’m sorry for the feelings of anxiety and they’re totally understandable. I am feeling nervous too but for different (some similar) reasons. Someone that I admire very much and care about told me that these things are a two way street. We have to really want the school, and they really have to want us. It might sound a little defeatist, but I think it’s rational. I think it’s a super good thing that you got an interview with your number one program ? and it matters more than the others that come next. Maybe if it’s just the one, there’s not much chance for leveraging offers, but in the big picture it is pretty significant. It means you are a good fit for each other. And that’s what counts the most. Hang in there.. we are all buzzing with anxiety alongside you. He also said, “One can always try again and again, but there will always be a school that will take you ‘as you are’” and I think there is a lot of beauty and comfort in to be taken, as we are.
  6. Hi there do you mean UW Seattle?
  7. Some schools probably got a late start this year being online for the first few weeks with the omicron surge.. hang tight.
  8. Same! I loved my time at Pratt, I know it’s a bit different for grad but I had some grad professors in my later years of ug that really sealed my love for the school. Did you watch their MFA info session? It’s super helpful, even to me having gone there.
  9. Hamburglar, Pratt should be around the second half of this month that we hear from them. What discipline did you apply for? I applied too.. I went there for undergrad.
  10. You’re probably right Coconut. Good luck to you. ? I didn’t ask I don’t think but what discipline did you apply in? I went for painting+drawing.
  11. Ok so I sent an email last week asking for a general timeline for them to review applications and I got this response today: Thank you for reaching out. The faculty have started their review of applications and will contact applicants if they have any questions. They typically start reaching out to finalists in early March. — So I don’t know if this means they will be interviewing people or not this year? It wasn’t very clear on that.. If someone is brave enough to ask “Hi, when should we expect interviews to be sent out to applicants?” That would be great. ? I mean is one a finalist by the interviews? Or after the interviews? Idk..
  12. Me too. ? If I hear anything I’ll post it here. When we log in it still says application with department so let’s hope they’re still reviewing?
  13. It was my first grad interview ever so I feel so grateful for that ? I hope your transfer works out, I feel like their 3 year MFA track could accommodate that somehow???
  14. Just finished mine right before yours I think. Mine was 2 hours ago. Did you interview with the painting/drawing faculty member? They are so so sweet and chill. I loved the energy.
  15. I’m sorry guys. It’s gonna be ok. These applications apparently have mysterious layers to the decision process.
  16. Hi all, I was wondering if there were any lurking UW Seattle MFA applicants that are also patiently waiting to hear anything from the school? It's like looking for unicorns.. Please pipe in if you've applied, it seems like not many people apply there compared to other schools and would be good for us to connect and support each other in our time of waiting. Hoping we can get a feel together for a timeline, news, updates, anything!
  17. Coconut! Finally another person who applied to UW Seattle. I am seriously thinking of starting a thread just about UW Seattle to gather all the applicants there - there's like no clear timeline for them getting back to us and so few of us have applied there? I only know of 1 other sweet person on here who has applied - you guys are unicorns.

  19. That all sounds so wonderful. Thank you for sharing, and these are valuable things to look for in our own interviews. The tiny spaces in the programs we want are difficult to come to terms with. One of my programs I really want to go to only takes on three painters a year.. so I feel you.. wishing you the best, and crossing my fingers for you.
  20. Hi there! Congratulations on your acceptance to UMass Dartmouth. I'm getting interviewed on Monday, it'll be my first one. What did they ask you if you don't mind sharing? I applied to their painting program. Hopefully you hear back soon from UO and Syracuse! Hang in there. It's still so early in Feb.
  21. honestly i'm trying to "make work" but i am so distracted by this forum since i discovered it, has completely derailed my studio practice. i keep coming back here for news. trying to get back to reading and drawing now..... and wean myself off this forum. how did your interview go? i'm happy you feel good post interview. i hope we all get that "went really well" feeling afterwards.. these things are so intimidating.
  22. Hi guys, it's my first time applying to grad schools, and some of you are first timers too. I know the more experienced folks on here have good advice, and I've had a lot of questions on do's and don'ts during this process. So I'm posting a helpful link I found here. If anyone is a grad app veteran and has solid advice too, that would help! Just sharing in case you guys had similar questions to me. I learned a lot from this link. http://shell.cas.usf.edu/~pspector/etiquette.html
  23. Pratt only just started reviewing applications and you will hear from them about the middle of the month to set up interviews. Like middle of the month is when they decide who gets interviewed. So it’s still a wait for them. I applied there too I’ll let you know.
  24. UMass Dartmouth invitation for interview. I had to email them politely for an application status update, and I got the email with interview request a couple hours later from a faculty member.
