Update for any UNL ceramics applicants: I was told in an email yesterday that they have narrowed it to a list of 6 applicants and will be calling us all and choosing two within a week. Had a phone call with them today. Pretty informal.

I saw a lot of posts a few days ago about VCU. I am currently a post-bacc there and thought I would share what I know because it seems like a lot of people are waiting to hear from them. When I was offered admission (I believe before they had conducted any interviews because I am a post-bacc and because it was an informal call from my current prof to let me know, nothing official) they told me that the school had not confirmed funding yet for the year and was running behind schedule. I think maybe some or all departments are waiting to hear back on that before sending out acceptances. They said they should know in about three weeks what the funding would be and this was about two weeks ago. I have no idea if this is why they haven't sent anything out yet but it seems like it could be why so don't lose hope if you're waiting to hear!

The email sent about extending the deadline for the application mentioned multiple cycles of review so that could mean there are multiple cycles of interviews. If you applied before Jan 15 you're guaranteed to be reviewed in the first cycle, if not then they may not have even seen your application yet so don't lose hope either way. I also know that the different departments are working on different timelines. I don't know if they are done or not but hopefully that info gives some insight

Just got the call! Accepted to VCU Craft and Material Studies (ceramics). I was surprised there was no interview as I know they have done them in past years. Maybe because I am a post-bacc already they decided to skip it?

I am currently a post-bacc there and also waiting to hear back on mfa admission but just talked to some grads in my department today and they said last year they were accepted by the 22nd of Feb so the interview was earlier than that, they remembered it being about two weeks after the deadline before hearing anything (deadline was extended last year too so i assume its around the same).
