  1. Has University of Virginia notified at all?
  2. Same, especially since it looks like Iowa is notifying in spaced-out batches... How hard would it be to just sit down and power through the few acceptance calls and then send mass rejection emails the same day!!
  3. Maybe... Ugh, I'm just sad because I had previously been accepted to one of the programs (with a far weaker writing sample than this time around!) and declined and reapplied this year, but it looks like I didn't get in again :.(
  4. Both programs only accept a few people for each cohort, so would it really take this long if it were because of that? Ugh, I'm riddled with nerves about it
  5. I'm less inclined to believe a reported acceptance in the Facebook group is bunk since Facebook is less anonymous than the GradCafe... Although I do find it odd that both UT Austin programs haven't notified waitlists and rejections shortly after acceptances/the day of, since they've tended to do that in the past?
  6. Oop, someone in the Draft posted about New Writers Project having notified them for their poetry acceptance back in the first week of February... Looks like I ain't goin to grad school this year!
  7. I think a few of the people in directorial roles at NWP are also faculty at Michener.
  8. I can't seriously believe Iowa is done notifying or has even started notifying poetry applicants considering no one in the Facebook group mentioned an acceptance. There are a few poets in that group who are powerhouses and have been getting accepted to every top-tier program they applied to; I would be surprised if Iowa also didn't accept them. It ain't over 'til the Draft Demigods post an Iowa poetry acceptance!
  9. Yup, I applied to both NWP and Michener! Might as well since applying to both didn't take much additional time. Although the user interface of the MyStatus/My Documents page is... lackluster, to say the least
  10. I'm shaking in my Brokeback mountain cowboy boots rn ? Hope we hear back soon because I've been refreshing the MyStatus portal dang near every minute after seeing that fiction acceptance!
  11. Nope, and I still think those acceptances are fake
  12. Love and hate how I manifested UT Austin beginning the notification process
  13. They'll probably start notifying poetry soon enough then!! I'm pre-grieving the loss I'm about to experience lol my portal is still listing my application as "in review" with no updates...
  14. Don't get my hopes up!! But part of me is ok not knowing since I'm expecting a rejection. Y'all, this waiting process is killing me I need a cigarette
  15. I have not heard back! I was just wondering since I haven't hear back from UT Austin at all yet
  16. I don't think you have to worry about making a decision by late March! Most grad programs abide by the April 15th deadline
  17. Did anyone else apply to Michener for either genre and hear back?
  18. It's almost kind of sad how one person keeps making different accounts to say cringe things on an online forum lol. It's very much serving jaded middle schooler mad about their crush not liking them back
  19. I definitely think that result is a fake one since no one else posted an acceptance on the GradCafe results page or the Draft page. And it only got posted when I asked if anyone else was waiting to hear back from Iowa lol
  20. Is anyone else waiting to hear from Iowa for poetry? Since fiction acceptances went out last week and all
  21. That's really awful for you I was in the top 12%. Better luck next time ❤️ @mrvisser and @koechope seem cool and I sense they'll get into their fave programs!
  22. Hi! Can anyone weigh in on the likelihood of being accepted to the same MFA program after turning it down? I was accepted two years/seasons ago and turned down the offer to do a grant abroad (the university the MFA program is at doesn't allow for deferrals). The director who was communicating with me during my decision process was so sweet and accommodating about it, ultimately encouraging me to apply again and heavily implying (but not outright saying) my odds of being accepted again are high. Since that was about two years ago, I'm wondering if I should temper my hopes haha I definitely don't want to assume I'm a shoo-in, especially with so many amazing applicants. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
